Severide pulled up to River's home and stopped near the door. "Well, there you go! Want me to pick you up tomorrow?" He asked her. "Sure!" She replied and unbuckled herself. "Have yourself a good night." He said. "You too, Kelly." She said and opened the door then got out. She turned around and looked at him. "And thank you." She said. "Thank, you." He emphasized in return. She smiled and closed the door then walked up and opened the door. As she went in and closed the front door and locked it, Kelly left. As the engine purred away she looked to her left and saw her caretaker's boyfriend was sitting in a chair. She always got an uneasy feeling about the guy. She hung up her purse and jacket and he stood up then walked over. "What is this?" He asked her. He stood, towering over her and looking down at her. "What is what?" She asked him. She started to feel scared. He took her hair in his hand and gripped it tightly. Pulling her head back, she grabbed a hold of his wrist. "This." He said and gestured to her face then grabbed her cheeks with his fingers. He was gripping her face so tightly she could feel the skin inside pressed against her teeth. And it began to hurt. "Putting make up on? Attracting men? She worries about you, you know?" He said. "I said I would stay up and wait for you to come home. And I did. Now I see. You're being a little slut." He said and threw her to the floor. She fell flat onto her chest and started to cry. He squatted down by her. "I don't ever want to see you acting like this again. You got it? And whoever that was in that car, I don't want you seeing him again." He said. She couldn't speak. He grabbed her hair and pulled her head to look at him. "Okay!" She cried out. He let go of her and she hid her face again. "Good girl." He said and patted her back then headed upstairs. "Now get to bed." He demanded. She slowly rose herself to her feet and headed upstairs behind him. He opened the door slightly to her caretaker's room. He watched her head to her bedroom and go inside. Then he entered the room and closed the door.

The following morning, she was downstairs and in the kitchen. He was in the living room. Her caretaker had left for work. Kelly showed up, like clockwork. He was sitting in his car and looked at the door. Waiting. River was still in the kitchen. The boyfriend looked to the window and saw Kelly outside. "You gotta be kidding me. Your booty call showed up here this morning?" He asked and looked back towards the kitchen. He couldn't see her past the wall but he knew where she was. "Hey! If he comes up to the door I'm getting it! You understand?!" He said. She put her hands on the counter and lowered her head. She didn't want to ignore Severide. "Understand?!" He demanded. "Yes!" She shouted back. Kelly put the car in park and turned off the engine. He got out and shut the door then walked around the back and started heading to the front door. "Okay. Guess he means business." The boyfriend said. He got up and walked to the front door. Just as Kelly was about to knock, he opened the door. "Oh! Hey. Is River home?" He asked. "Yeah she is. But she won't have anything to do with you." The boyfriend responded. He held the door only open enough for his own body. "Look, I don't know what you think we have..." Kelly said but was cut off. "Oh I know what you have. But you're not getting any more of it. Now get lost." He said. "I..." Severide said but the door was slammed and locked. "Okay." He said and started to walk away. He heard a sound by the back and he went to the side and looked. River was at the back and she pointed for him to head down the block back where he came. He nodded then went to his car. She started to run away down the block and he got in his car and started it then left down the block. He took a right turn then drove down to the next block, took another right and drove to the far end then looked to his right and saw her walking down the sidewalk he leaned over and unlocked the passenger door. She hurried to the car and opened the door then got in and shut it. She buckled in just as the light turned green and he drove. "I hope that wasn't your caretaker." He said. "No. Her, boyfriend." She said. "Did he hurt you?" He asked her. She hung her head. "I know somebody who can help." He told her. She looked to him. "Kelly, I don't want you doing this for me. Or getting involved. He's..." She said but stopped mid-sentence. "Terrifying? Scary? Harmful? I run in to burning buildings. I risk my life every day. This guy doesn't scare me." He replied. "Besides. He hurt my girl." He said. She smiled a bit then looked away.

He drove to District 21 of the CPD and parked then they went inside. "Lieutenant Severide! What can I help you with?" Sergeant Platt asked. "We need to speak to Voight." He told her. For some reason River felt a small jitter as well as an unexplained calmness when she heard the name. "I'll walk you up." Platt said. She left the front desk and walked up the steps then used the code scanner and opened a cage door. Kelly let River walk in first and she followed Sergeant Platt up the stairs to where the Intelligence Unit works. "Hank." She said. Voight looked at them. "These two need to speak with you." She said. "Alright. Come step into my office." He said. River walked over, keeping her arms close to her sides and hands in loose fists. The crew watched her and Kelly walk over and enter into his office. Hank walked in and closed the door nicely then approached his desk and sat down. "Don't be afraid. Have a seat." He said. River sat down in a chair and Kelly sat down in the one beside her. "What information do you have for me?" He asked. "Um..." She said and looked to the floor. "She's been an orphan her whole life. Raised by her caretaker. Who has a boyfriend." Severide started. "A boyfriend." Voight said and sounded intrigued. He looked to River. "What's his name?" He asked her. "Mark." She said. "Mark Taylor." She added. "Okay. And has this, Mark...abused you?" He asked her. She lifted her head and looked at him. "Yes." She replied. "Sexually?" He asked her. "No. Physically."
"I believe you. But to take this guy down we need proof. Marks, photos, video. I know it's difficult to try to get across to that or to make that happen. But we can be with you the entire time."
"I...I can go through it again."
"Okay. Do you know what made him angry the last time?"
"I was out late. With Kelly. I went to Molly's. I first, went with co-workers. And he took me home after."
"Okay. That's good. That's very good. I have a plan, if you're okay with it."
"I'd love to help the police. And to get rid of Mark."
Hank looked to Kelly. "Where did you find this girl?" He asked him. "Stuck on a weak platform in a dilapidated building." He answered. She smiled a little. Hank looked back to her. "Okay, I want you to go to work, or wherever it is you go during the day. Go about your daily routine and come back later in the evening. I'll have one of my Detectives hook you up with a microphone so we can catch an audio of this guy. We'll be parked on your street and ready to arrest him. Okay?" He said. "You got it, sir." She said. Hank smiled a little. "I like you." He said as he sat back in his chair. "I like you too sir. I'm glad we came here." She said. "We gotta get to work now. Chief's gonna kill us for being late." Kelly said. "Better get on it then." Hank replied. Kelly thanked him and they shook his hand and headed out.
