II

A lot happened when Blade came back to town. While every girl was drinking up and basking in his dope dealing glory I was hiding from it. I knew the true dangers of hanging out with someone like Blade and it was not worth a new Gucci bag. Along with him came his two minions. I couldn't escape. The man that was Blade and the worst part of it all is that with his return, came all our memories; so after three years of running away from everything that was Blade, I ran straight into him and had to face my feelings.

It has been two months, two long and paranoid filled months since Blade had graced me with his presence. I mean don't get me wrong the dude is fine, but I just can't go back down that road again. Once My brothers got word that Blade would be attending our school the first thing they wanted to do was have a riot.

"Fuck you mean that nigga back in Cali?" was all that anyone could ask or form in their mind.

Blade was an east coast king so for him to want to come to the west only meant one thing, trouble.

As bad as my brothers wanted to fight, we all agreed to just wait him out.

"We don't make a move until he does."

Is what my brother said but my biggest question was "why now and if his move to the west was his move?"

I guess nobody wanted to think about the possibility of that. While my brothers only dealt with the enigma that was Blade, I had personal experience with the man behind the enigma, Ricardo "Blade" Graziano.

I had spent summer nights with him, went to drive in movies and even walked the beach with him. I knew how Blade worked and I knew that this move to the west was only the beginning of something. See Blade was the worst kind of enemy because he was nice. He made a move and gave you a grace period to retaliate, if you let the opportunity pass by then he went in for the kill.

I knew all of this because while I was cuddled up with him he was planting to kill my father. I was so naive to believe that he was only focused on me. I missed all the signs. Loshae and Ivette were too busy stuck up Blades ass to notice the killer he truly was.

"Oh my God girl did you see that new nigga?!" Loshae could do nothing but laugh at Ivette as she rambled on about Blade

"Yes Ivette how many times are you going to ask if we've seen him?"

"Loshae don't be mad cause he said hey to me instead of you." And with that Ivette stuck her neck out and rambled on about Blade.

"Roxanne that nigga is so bomb. He had ya girl a little parched. Oh!" I had to laugh at that, just one glimpse at Blade and Ivette was already squealing with delight. As funny as her thirst was, I couldn't really enjoy her stupidity. I guess I was more put off by Blade's presence then I let myself think because Loshae looked at me sideways.

"Roxanne what's wrong with you? Usually a dude like Blade comes around and your on him like-"

"Flies on shit." Ivette said and of course Loshae rolled her eyes at her.

"What have I told you about cursing, and no fool like white on rice." Ivette just rolled her eyes and I shrugged my shoulders. Blade was such a touchy topic that even my girls never knew about him. I was in so deep with Blade no one else mattered. My brothers and I moved from New York to escape Blade and now that he was back I refused to get involved or even go back to those memories. Blade and I did not need to go back down memory lane. I just refused to do it.

"Well anyway, Martin is having a party tonight so you know we have to go, especially because I heard Blaze's fine ass is going to be there!" Immediately I was shaking my head at Ivettes's request. My goal was avoiding Blaze not falling right into his lap.

"Sorry boo I have to stay at home tonight and clean" Loshae started laughing at me.

"You Clean?" I mugged Loshae

"Yes bitch, do you even know how to start a vacuum"

"Nice one Ivette"

"Thank you Loshae" I couldn't stand them here they were making fun of me and high-giving each other. Hoes.

"Yes hoes I do clean and most definitely know how to start a vacuum, ask her Troy I know how start other things too." I smirked and looked Ivette dead in the face.

"Dannnng she went there Ivette. You just going to take that?"

"Troy can take it." I said and I just waited until Ivette snapped. Loshae was too. Busy laughing and instigating to see how mad Ivette was getting.

"You know what fuck yall hoes. I'mma go to the party by my damn self!" And with that Ivette stomped her short ass away from me and Loshae and walked right into Troy.

"Look Loshae she walked into Troy."

"Dang, she's yelling at him again"

"When is she going to stop playing games and just admit that she wants him?" Loshae nodded her head in agreement.

"You know he already got with her right?" I looked at Loshae like she was crazy.

"Fuck you mean he 'got with her'?" Loshae leaned closer to my ear.

"You know he got with her got with her."

"Loshae if your weird ass just don't say what you trying to say."

"Ugh they had sex! Ok they had SEX!" I couldn't belie it my best friend lost her virginity and didn't even tell me.

"When the hell did this happen? And why would she just tell you and not me?" Loshae just shook her head and shrugged her shoulders.

"It was over spring break-"

"When we were at Tonya's condo for the weekend?" Loshae nodded her head.

"That was the same weekend Rob came through with a bouquet of flowers right?" Loshae nodded her head in agreement."

"Yeah and you had left with Tonya earlier so I had took the flowers for you."

"Loshae those flowers weren't for me."

"Then who the hell were they for-wait you don't think-"

"Yes bitch! They were for Ivette!" Loshaes eyes went wide as she started to jump up and down.

"Omg I knew it! That's why he was standing so close to her locker the other day!"

I could only shake my head. Ivette went behind my back and screwed my brother! MY brother and didn't even have the courtesy to tell me.

"ROX where are you going? Hey! ROX don't do anything crazy!"

I didn't even respond I just walked away from Loshae and got into my car.

It was about to be a long a silent dinner tonight.
