{1} Stupid Missing Girl
(7 years later)

"Yo, Beck, why's that girl always over here?" JD asked while staring out the window. Raising a brow, I stood up and walked over to the window to see what the hell he was talking about. I surveyed the yard until my eyes fell on Leaf.

"She lives down the road; her older brothers are friends with Bianca and Joey. She just tags along with them." I shrug while watching her run carelessly around the yard with bare feet and a pair of basketball shorts and an old jersey that probably belonged to one of her older brothers. She was always wearing their old clothes. Her older brother's and mine chased her and Bianca shouting obscenities and waving their arms around wildly. You would think the idiots were in elementary school still with the way they behave.

"She looks familiar," JD mumbled while his blond brows pulled together in a tight V as he tried to place where he knew her from. I laughed at the way he struggled to figure out how he knew the bronze-haired girl who was now hanging off my older brother's shoulder her small fists pounding his back while screeching.

"Probably because we've been going to school with her since Pre-K," I reply before turning away from the window and collapsing onto my bed, picking up my controller and resuming my game.

"Really?" He asked he sounded as though he didn't believe me. I rolled my eyes wondering if the guy lived under a rock our entire childhood.

"Her name is Leaf," I told him, hoping her ridiculous name would jog his memory, by the way, his face lit up I had a feeling it did.

"You mean the little girl we used to push into lockers and trip in the hallways?" I nod and he looks back out the window. "Wow, she changed." He said.

I couldn't help but snort wondering what the hell he was talking about. She was still the same girl with freckles, frizzy hair, ugly mud-colored eyes, and the same hand-me-down clothes. The only difference was she grew a few feet and lost the braces. She's just another annoying girl. "Whatever JD, are you going to help me kill some zombies or stare at some stupid girl out my bedroom window like a stalker?" I asked. He grumbled something about me being a pain in the ass before throwing himself onto the bed beside me and grabbing his controller.

We played a few more hours until the sun started to set and JD declared he was hungry and decided to head home for dinner. I walked him to the door before telling him I'd see him at school tomorrow and heading into the kitchen for some food of my own.

I stopped in the doorway of the kitchen when I was greeted by the seven people that seemed to annoy me most in life, especially recently. My sister Bianca who was cuddled up with Holden, Leaf's oldest brother. My brother Joey, and cousin Adam along with Leaf's other two brothers Xander and Morgan, and finally the girl that seemed to be everywhere I was, Leaf, were huddled around the island. I shook my head at the dumb name her parents gave her. "What's up Beck?" Adam grinned while plucking the half-eaten cupcake out of Leaf's small hands and swallowing it in one bite. She glared up at him causing Bianca to giggle into Holden's neck. I scowled at them before heading to the fridge to search for food completely ignoring Adam who rolled his eyes at me for ignoring him.

Looking around the fridge I grabbed a container of store made chicken salad, from a place I didn't recognize, before looking at the ingredient list. I struggled to read the small print, groaning when I couldn't sound out a few of the bigger words in the list. Slamming the container on the counter I turned and stomped out of the room and up the stairs, feeling everyone's eyes on my retreating figure.
