Hi guys,

Now this blog post is going to be about a couple of things that I hold very closely to my heart. A couple of events have sprung up in the last few weeks that I need to stop for a second and address. And by that I mean HOLY SH*T NEW MUSIC!!!!!

Anyone who thought this post was going to be serious, nah.

SO PTX RELEASED A NEW ALBUM!! I took a two year break from the PTX fandom, so I didn't know about their new album until four days before it was released. And now it's finally out, and I'm so excited!!! Mitch's voice in Bohemian Rhapsody is so beautiful, and it made me cry the first time I listened to it. I also love Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Take On Me, and Kirstie's voice is magical in every song.

As for more music, LIGHTS is releasing a new album soon!! I say soon, but it's actually in Spring, so in about five months. I'm so excited, also because she's releasing a comic along with the album that I'm going to try my best to get a copy of. I'm guessing that my best bet will be at ComicCon this year, but it may be too obscure.

I'll probably do a review on the album once it comes out, and so expect that in a little while. The only problem is that I'm so addicted to her music that every song will likely be a ten. I'll try to do a honest review, just don't be disappointed if that happens.

And the final and main point of this video isn't actually about music, because I have one more thing that I found out that I'm so excited about.

I'M GOING TO VIDCON!!!!!

This is something that I've wanted to do for so long, but it just wasn't possible. It was on the opposite side of the world, in a place where it's really expensive to fly to, over the weekend in an exam period. It would cost me about $3000 to get there, and it just wasn't worth it. However, when I checked out their page I found that it's coming to Australia!

Unfortunately it's not in Sydney, but I'm still willing to fly to Melbourne to see it. And one of the most exciting parts is that TheGabbieShow is coming! She's been one of my top five favourite YouTubers for over a year, and I'm so excited to be able to see her. It's honestly a dream come true.

I've already started planning what I'm going to get as a fan gift, because I plan things way too far in advance. I'm thinking of doing something personal, because I'm already spending around $300 to go there and I don't have the budget. I was maybe thinking of doing a booklet of some sort, maybe just as a combination of letters, nice comments from random people and edits. It's really hard for me to not just write a sixty page letter of everything, but I'm going to refrain.

I'm also hoping that Dan and Phil and Pentatonix come, because they're my other favourite people. Dan and Phil are so funny and I missed them in TATINOF, so I'd love to see them at a panel or even possibly meet them (I CAN DREAM OKAY). And Pentatonix...I have no words. They are little angels. And before you say that Pentatonix won't come because they're not YouTubers, they've gone to the USA one before and are going this year. Kirstin said on her livestream that they're not going to the Europe one, but she didn't say anything about the Australian one.

Speaking of Kirstin, I've started reading her blog, and I recommend that every single one of you guys read it. It's so inspirational, and is quite like my blog in the fact that it's more about reflection and thoughts and feelings then just things that happened in her life. If you want more proof, here's a paragraph from chapter 58:

"It takes time, but most of all it takes your willingness to accept change and yourself!! You have to want to change and want to be better. People around you can help you for so long, situations can go well for so long, but it takes YOU to propel yourself forward. Don't make excuses for you not treating yourself to your own love and your best anymore!"

This is why I'm obsessed with her.

The final thing that I wanted to talk about is health. I've been forcing myself to accept that I eat way too much sugar and fat, and need to work on my health. I'm not trying to lose weight or diet in any way, because I'm a healthy weight if not a little underweight. I'm trying to make sure that I'm eating enough of the right things so that I can sustain the intense sports that I do (water polo, cross country running etc).

To add onto that, I've also decided to go (sorta) pescatarian. The sorta is because I don't have enough willpower to fully cut chicken or gelatin out of my diet. My parents are also forcing me to eat some meat, because I need some form of protein so my muscles can keep growing stronger.

I feel so successful, because yesterday I went to a friend's birthday party and managed to avoid eating gelatin the whole time, which was such a struggle because there was sour straps on the cake and marshmallows there.

Now enough about me. This isn't all about me, it's also about my lovely viewers. So I'm going to get deep, and say that you are beautiful no matter what size or shape you are. And if you want to lose weight, starving yourself or throwing up your food is never the option. Your body is not getting the nutrients it needs, and you will feel dizzy, faint or lose muscular definition. But possibly the most persuasive argument is that you will end up gaining weight. You can't not eat forever, because you will die (trust me). What tends to happen is that you'll starve yourself for a few weeks, then get so hungry that you'll give up and eat a ridiculous amount of food.

The problem is that when you're starving yourself, your metabolism will slow right down, so that you can conserve what's left. However, when you stuff yourself your metabolism will still be slow. You won't be able to burn off the fat like someone with a fast metabolism is able to, and you'll gain the fat.

So to all the people who've wanted to lose weight, have tried or who are trying to: be very careful. Don't calorie count, cut down on sugar and fat, and balance that with exercise. It's not about how much, it's about how healthy. There are plenty of apps and websites that can tell you if you have a balanced diet or not.

Stay beautiful.

I'm going to try a new thing that Superfruit does, which is also a bit of a throwback to QOTB and RTOTB. This is called 'weekly obsession' and 'song of the week'. Pretty self explanatory.

Weekly obsession: One of my birthday presents was an adult colouring book, which I've been using so much. I'm trying to experiment with a new style every work, and I'm super proud of it.

Song of the Week: Oblivion - Bastille. Recently I've been into piano and string ballads (I think that's what it's called) and this song is so beautiful. The lyrics are meaningful, the strings add so much to the atmosphere, and when he says 'are you going to age with grace' it hits me like a punch in the gut. I love the high notes so much.

Enjoy,
Callie ;)
