Tears fell off my cheeks and floated around me like I was in space. Am I in space? I can't tell... all I could see was blackness and my home fading away. All was quiet. Until I heard the sound of a old movie protecter running. With the sound of the reel clanking. I saw a beam of light above me. An old black and white film began to play. It seems normal enough. Just a family having dinner. But it became more... violent as time went on. From people going about their every day lives. To a man stabbing his wife in the eye with a pen. People burning in a fire. A girl getting hit by a car. I wanted to throw up. But I couldn't. I turned away from the screen for a long while.
Soon the clanking of the reel stopped. I look back at the screen and the girls bloody face took up the whole screen "Please Jason, wake up. I need you..." the girl says with sad eyes. "Leave me alone!" I shouted. She giggled again. Her eyes melting from her sockets. And her face soon melting out of frame. And with the sound of a pop, I was sitting in a padded containment cell. I was in a straightjacket. I didn't bother struggling. I already knew it wouldn't help. What new horrors would face me now? Why is this girl haunting me? Attacking me? None of this made sense! Am I sleeping? Is this all some messed up dream? Will I ever go back to the real world? Or is this my eternal fate?
I sat in that room for what seemed to be days. Days of nothing but rocking back and forth in this room. My hair began to fall out. I was uncontrollably shaking. I felt like... I really belonged here. Like I was insane! I began to laugh hysterically. If I didn't have restraints, I'm sure I would've clawed my eyes out by now. I felt sick yet... I felt better than I ever have in my life.
After what felt like weeks, a door finally opened. But no one was there. By this point, I felt more like an animal than a person. I got up and began to sniff the air like a dog. Grunt like an ape, walk like one too as I approached the door. As I walked through that door, I felt normal again. My posture straightened. And thought normally for once. There was three paths I could go down as I walked out of the room. A hall to the left was a plain white hallway was was brightly lit. The pathway straight ahead had scratched up wooden walls and floors with flickering lights. And to the right had what looked like an alley way. Two different walls. One cement and the other made of brick. It had no lights and fog floating around the path.
I thought a moment and took a step towards the white hallway. A ghostly white figure walked through the white hallway. It stopped and looked at me. I felt butterflies in my stomach and the hair on my arms rise. It was a little girl... that looked so familiar... I took a step back and the figure smiled. It continued walking through the wall. And vanished out of sight. "Yeah... no..." I muttered to myself. I looked at the alley way and sighed "guess I'll try you..."
I stepped towards the alley way. The roof above me disappeared and I was outside, under the shining stars of night. I saw a red ball with yellow stars covering it. It was rolling across the ground. It was about the size of an average soccer ball. For some reason... this ball looks familiar. But I couldn't put my finger on it. I walked towards it. I continuously looked over my shoulder to see if that ghostly figure was there, but it wasn't. I crouched down once I approached the ball. I inspected it for a moment and reached for it. As my index finger came in contact with the ball, I felt like I was shot from a cannon. Colors flying by me. Stars, planets, galaxies and I swear, the gates of heaven were before my eyes. "Not your time..." a soft female voice whispered in my ear...
