Sixth Dream

Here I am again... in this blackness. What does any of this mean? Does it mean anything at all? Or is it just pointless dreaming? I just want this to end. Someone... anyone... help me...

I was in the void for longer than usual. I was waiting for the next horrid room to show up at any minute. But nothing came. Felt like I was in there for days. Did time even exist in this place? Now that I think about it, what is this place? Nothing but pure blackness. I began thinking of my family. Where are they? Now that I look back on it, they all were crying. My mother crying in the kitchen. My father beside her. My siblings in the next room over. Was that real or was that an illusion?

This blackness is a good place to think. Nothing to distract me. But as I was deep in thought, I hit something. I felt like I was on the ground but I was still in total darkness. I stood up. I didn't know where to go. I heard faint whispers in the back of my mind. "Jason, please, wake up" a mans voice echoed "Jason I need you..." a familiar woman's voice whispered into my ear. I turned to face where I heard the voice but there was nothing. I felt something against my ear but the only thing around me was darkness. I felt comfort at that touch but as it went away, I felt alone. Afraid.

The voices stopped. For a long time I heard nothing until I heard soft sobbing. I walked towards it and it got louder and louder. A speck came into view. A white speck. It grew larger as I got closer. I could make out a white dress. It looked like an old nightgown. But it was torn and bloody upon closer inspection. I stopped about ten feet away from the figure. It looked like the ghostly girl from the hallway earlier. I took another step and she screamed and I heard a loud crashing noise. I covered my ears and closed my eyes tight.

After a moment I opened my eyes again. The girl was gone. I step towards where I last saw her. I still heard the light sobs but it wasn't coming from any direction. Why did the cries sound familiar? Why did the girl look familiar? I felt like I knew her. But... I don't. Something told me to look behind me. I froze. I wanted to turn around but another part of me didn't. I took a deep breath and turned around...

I sighed in relief when nothing was there. I chuckled to myself. "I'm just getting paranoid" I thought. I turned back around and fell over at the sight of the faceless girl. She let out a horrible scream like she was being attacked. I scooted away but hit an invisible wall. I tried moving to the sides but I couldn't. It felt like there was a wall there too. I couldn't move forward either. I was stuck in between four invisible walls. The girl looked at me with her blood shot eyes. Her frozen smile seemed to grow. Blood still dripping from her skinless face. She crawled towards me. "You let this happen to me Jason..." her voice echoed. "I didn't do anything! Just let me go home!" I shouted. I felt my back burn like I was on fire. I winched in pain and my head began to throb again.

"It's all your fault... it's all your fault... it's all your fault" I heard over and over again as the girl was inches away from my face. Starring at me, not able to blink. Her blood began to soak my clothes. "I just wanna go home.." my voice echoed and I was in my room. I didn't know what to do. I didn't wanna get excited. It might be another illusion. I walked to the door and peeked out into the hall. Everything looked normal "m-mom? Dad?" I called out "yes Jason?" My mom called back to me. A smile crossed my face as I sprinted down stairs "mom!!" I shouted. She was facing away from me as she was at the stove making food "I had the most horrifying nightmare last night!" I slowed down to a walk as I got close to her. She turned around, revealing her skinless face and stitched smile "and what was that honey?" She said without her lips moving. I jumped back and ran away. My sister was playing on the floor in the next room. As I entered, she looked up at me with the same face as my mother. "what's the matter Jasie?" She asked innocently. I booked it up to my room and slammed the door. I locked it and jumped in my bed, covering myself with my blanket.

All was quiet for a minute until I heard foot steps coming up the stairs. "Jason honey, breakfast is ready!" My mom knocked at my door. "I-I'm not hungry!" I answered, still hiding under my blanket. "Oh don't be silly Jason, a growing boy needs to eat!" I uncovered myself and screamed when my faceless family stood around my bed. My mother holding a plate with all of their faces on it. "WAKE UP JASON!" My father shouted at me. I began sinking into my bed like I was being swallowed by it. I reached my arm into the air, trying to grab something but it was no use. My mom hovered over the last little crack in the bed before everything went to darkness "Jason... it's time to wake up... come back to me..."
