I couldn't help but let my mind wander to him. He had been on my mind ever since I got here. I couldn't help it. I tortured myself with the thoughts. I wish things were different, I still don't know what happened... how this happened.
"Hey, Lucia, you coming back in?" I was interrupted from my thoughts by Nolan. I looked at him, he was grinning at me with a silly smile. I forced a smirky grin on my face.
"Miss me already, killer?" I let the word killer come out sexy and playful. A light blush spread up Nolan's neck all the way to the tips of his ears. I loved having this effect on people.
"Y-Yeah. I mean yeah, you know, just waiting to do it all over again." I smiled as I stood up and made my way back into the lake. Still disgusting, but kind of relaxing at the same time. Bishop swam over to where I was at.
"What were you thinking about out there pipsqueak?" He had a playful tone to his voice, but I could tell he was really curious to know, so I thought I'd give him something to nibble on. I leaned in close to his ear and said
"I was thinking about how I could drown you in the lake without any witnesses." His eyes went wide and then back to normal, replaced with a pouty expression.
"I was hoping it was something more along the lines of me, you and a bed." I glared at him and tried to force as much hatred as I could out. I had only known him for a day, and already I couldn't hardly stand his presence. I swam away from him and made my way over to Kara and the other girl.
"Hey Kara, hey.... I'm so sorry, I didn't get your name earlier?"
"Dana. Nice job showing up Angel. I'm not even sure why she hung around us, she literally hated our guts, but the feeling was mutual. I think she only hung around with us to see Bishop." I stuck my tongue out at the mention of Bishop.
"I don't know why, he's awful." I crinkled my nose up in disgust to emphasize my point.
"Well he is the school player. Well him and Tanner, Devon is more the relationship type, and Nolan? Who even knows with him. The last time he had a girlfriend was probably preschool." We all sat there for a second pondering that one.
"I've got it. He's gay. Totally and utterly gay." Kara and I looked at Dana and then busted out laughing. I could barely breath I was laughing so hard. I thought Kara was going to drown because she forgot to swim for a second from laughing so hard.
"Oooookay. I think that is ridiculous. He totally was blushing around Lucia earlier." I looked a Kara with a serious expression.
"Let's not go there tonight." She tilted her head to the side before nodding.
"Hey ladies, would you all like to accompany us lads back to my house for some drinks?" Tanner waited for our response.
"Sure, let's go." We followed the guys out of the water and onto the sand where they promptly put their clothes on over their wet ones. I searched for my clothes in the dark before finding them next to a bush. "I have to call my dad." I walked away from the group and further towards the water while ringing my dad.
"Hello?"
"Hi daddy dearest, it's me your favorite and only daughter." I smiled to myself at the terminology in which I use for my dad.
"Well daughter dearest, what do you want, because you only call me that when you want something." I pouted out my bottom lip. He knew me too well.
"I was just calling to let you know I've decided to stay with my new friends tonight to get to know them better." Silence came from the other end.
"I thought you left with boys?" Damn. I forgot I told him I was going out with all dudes. Be slick Lucia, be slick.
"Well, I met some girls while we were hanging out and I decided to go home with them tonight." More silence. I hate when he does that.
"Ohhhhkay. I guess its alright, but be safe. You still have your pepper spray?" I rolled my eyes.
"Yes daddy, I have my pepper spray."
"Do you still remember how to punch somebody?" I snickered a bit at this.
"Yes dad. I still remember. I'll be safe and I will see you tomorrow." I heard him sigh in defeat. Perks of being daddies little girl.
"Fine, okay, you're old man is cramping your style, but please, be safe. I love you."
"Bye daddy, I love you too." I smiled to myself as I hung up with him. He had been my rock through everything. He helped me get through all the pain.
"Aww, she loves her daddy, how sweet." I turned and glared at Bishop.
"Haven't you ever heard that its rude to eavesdrop on people's conversations?"
"I can't help it that I came to get you and you were chatting your old man up. And pepper spray? Really? I thought we had established that we weren't going to try to hurt you." He had a serious expression on his face, and for some reason, it made me feel the need to laugh. So that's what I did. I laughed right in Bishop Davis' face. His eye twitched slightly and he narrowed his eyes at me. "Why are you laughing?"
"You know what? I don't even know, your face is pretty hilarious all on its own." He gaped at me. I tossed my hair, winked at him, and walked away. "Coming lover boy?" I received another award worthy glare from him as I walked on to the group. "Are you guys ready to go?"
"Yeah, I hope you're ready to get wasted." Tanner gave me a mischievous look.
"Just a reminder. I still have pepper spray." I cocked a half smile at his expression. "Well? Let's go guys."
