No, Lance is not overpowered, he would be on par with a fully trained huntsman. He beat Qrow using shock and unrelenting attacks, he would have trouble fighting Cinder or any of Salem's main lackeys. Another thing, Illusions will have a majorly reduced effect on him, due to the magic he uses. One more thing, there will most likely not be a pairing, (aside from background Chara and Jaune) he is not interested in anyone at Beacon, yet.
One final thing, the omakes will have no effect on the timeline or story, but are going to be put in if I am hit with writer's block. Well, have fun and read on.
