Drew’s POV

“Okay” Yumi said.

“Okay then. We’re clear.” I told her then stood up to get her guitar from its old place. Yumi had a guitar even though she can’t play it. Just for display, she told me.

We both had our guitars personalized last Winter break in our trip to Athens in Greece. Yumi had our names printed on the bottom part of her guitar. Mine’s also like hers. My guitar also had designed ‘Yumi & Drew’ below but mine had a small ‘to infinity and beyond’ under it. Yumi used to be jealous of my idea but I told her not to copy.

I was about to get her carnation pink guitar with bubblegum-colored strings that for me until now is so childish. But it looked cute, she always told me. Oh yes, I was about to get her guitar when I saw an eggplant-colored binder which seemed so unfamiliar to me. I gripped it as I read the title. “The Diary of Broken Dreams” I said then I faced Yumi. “What is this?”

I saw her eyes widened as she ran to me and snatched the diary. We both fell on her couch. Not just fell, but she was on me and my lips accidentally touched hers. We were unaware that moment. I guess we had this awkward silence for a minute, afterwards she finally stood up.

“Don’t you dare touch this again!” Yumi yelled at me.

I sat down the couch, looking up at her standing. “Why? What’s in that? Is that one of your mom’s ongoing book?” I asked her. I’m really, really getting curious with that book. She didn’t answer. What an odd topic. I sighed as she keeps that book on her shelf.

Yumi’s POV

“Is that one of your mom’s ongoing book?” Drew asked.

He sighed as I keep my diary on my bookshelf. Then I turned to him. “That book is my mom’s first book and one of her biggest failures.” I lied. I didn’t know where I got that idea. It just popped out my mind but I think it’s working anyway. “She wanted me to keep it and never let anyone see or even touch it. I promised her, now what you just did is beyond my limitations here. Once you got inside my room, you should follow my rules. And one of it is not, I mean, never to touch that book again. Do you understand me?”

Drew nodded. “Wow, the last time I had a sleepover here with you, you didn’t have your what-so-ever rules and now, you got. Really wow.” He teased.

Yes, that’s true. He used to have a sleepover here with me. We used to sleep in one bed. We used to have a movie marathon and eat midnight snacks. We used to, yes. But that was long time ago when we were still young! I mean, we’re 18. We’re all grown-up.

“And one more thing . . .” I told him. “No teasing if you don’t want to go back home at the wrong time.” I said coldly.

He laughed. “Okay then . . .”

I hopped into my bed and readied myself to sleep. I was about to slip through my Satin eye mask (the one that Britney also got) when I heard Drew strummed my guitar. I sat down. “Hey, it’s already eleven! I’m going to sleep.”

“Come here.” He told me.

I was too inquisitive that I followed him. I sat beside him and he repeated the intro. “What will you play?” I asked.

“You’re my peace of mind . . .” He started.

I hit him with a pillow. He’s teasing me again with that ‘Beautiful in my Eyes’ song written in the love letter I received this morning. “Seriously, Drew!!! When will you ever change??” I yelled at him.

He laughed out loud again. He’s so cute when he laughs. I almost wanted to tell him to stop laughing cause it’s making me fell in love with him more . . . but why will I say that? Drew’s gonna laugh to death even more when he heard me say that.
