Yumi’s POV

My last song syndrome attacked again. I played almost all the songs in my hit list but Drew’s voice is still in my head. I want to clog my ears and get him out of my head! I just sadly can’t.

Well, how can I forget his voice if all the songs in my phone are his’? :D

That was the first reason why I never let him touch my phone. He might think I’m too obsessed with his voice . . . with him.

“Yumi.” Someone familiar to me said. I turned to where the voice is.

It was Drew, entering my room.

“You know how to knock, don’t you?” I asked him. Actually, it was my code for ‘stop invading private properties’. I pressed the stop button in my walkman. He might ask what kind of music I am listening to. I don’t wanna be caught in my act.

He sat beside me on my bed and checked my temperature using his hand. “You’re hot.” He said.

“You don’t have to tell me cause I already knew it.” I joked. “Don’t you know I’m getting bigger ears every time I receive compliments?”

“You’re too pretty to be a clown, Yumi, so stop joking.” Drew said. He didn’t sound that serious though.

“Oh! My ears! It’s getting even bigger again!! Oh my, Drew! Help me!!” I acted, laughing.

“Stop laughing. Why didn’t you tell me you’re sick? Why didn’t you call me?” Drew asked continuously.

Silence for some seconds. “You’re in school. I can’t tell you.”

“Well my point is you must tell me! I can skip school just to take care of you.”

“And that’s what I don’t like to happen, Drew. You’re running for honors and you’re always absent just because of me. How can I possibly be so selfish? I can take care of myself, okay? You don’t have to worry about me that much.” I paused. “Or . . . hey! You missed me so bad, I guess?”

He didn’t answer.

“Ha! Shoot!” I laughed and punched him on the arm. I always do that to him. “So you really miss me? Wow. It’s making me flatter! Oh, Drew! That’s so sweet of you! I miss you too! So muuuuch!” I said with my flirtatious tone I usually use when joking around Drew.

It was a joke, but jokes are half-true. I believe in that. Why? Okay, why will you say or joke something like that if you didn’t think about it, right?

Yes, I really missed him. Even though it has only been a day and a half since we haven’t seen each other . . .

Drew’s POV

“So you really miss me? Wow. It’s making me flatter! Oh, Drew! That’s so sweet of you! I miss you too! So muuuuch!” Yumi said with that irritating voice she always uses when she’s joking around me. Why irritating? It’s because that voice can almost make me believe that what she’s trying to say is true.

“Stop playing around me. I didn’t miss you.” I told her, even though I really did.

“You did.”

“Did not.”

“You did.”

“If you really think that I missed you, then what could be the first possible reason why I did?” I asked her . . . more on ‘confronted’ her. She couldn’t answer me.

We had this awkward silence for some minutes. I bet she’s really thinking about it. I wanted her to guess that I love her so for once I’ll think that she had an idea with what I’m feeling for her.
