Drew’s POV
“Rise and shine, me lady!” I shouted from Yumi’s balcony.
I already made her a cup of chai.
I already prepared her a hotdog sandwich and hamburger (since it’s for breakfast).
I saw her, stretching her arms and flexing her legs, walking towards the terrace, holding her Android phone. “Why are we so early?” She asked me, sitting down her chair.
I served her food. I’m used to serve her breakfast every time I have a sleepover with her. “We’re going to jog around the suburbs.” I told her, already sipping from her tea.
Our house is just a few blocks away from theirs. We’re in one subdivision that’s why I can go back and forth from their house to mine without getting tired in any time. “I don’t want to.” She said.
“Then let’s visit our favorite place.” I told her. I’m referring to the riverbank just around the subdivision. We used to hang out, go fishing and have our picnic there when we were in high school. One time, we invited Chard out and we were chased by a big, Saint Bernard dog. That time, Chard began hating animals, especially dogs. And I guess that’s the reason behind why Yumi ordered a Chihuahua from an online pet shop, so she can have armor when fighting Chard.
“I don’t want to.” She said, sliding her phone to unlock.
“Oh comm’n, Yumi . . .” I insisted. I then, get the picnic basket from the kitchen and put all our breakfast inside. I held her hands and I made her follow me downstairs, then to my pick-up car. You know the feeling when you don’t want to let go of her any longer?
“Wait! I’m still in pajamas! And I left my shoes!” Yumi complained.
I started the engine and opened a North Star bag, Yumi’s. “I brought you shoes and shorts and sunglasses and the couple shirt I hid last night. I knew you were going to need that.” I drove my red car to the place we should be. “I’m a scout, see? I’m all prepared.” I grinned.
Yumi’s POV
I put out the clothes from my bag that Drew organized. I had my orange Toms shoes, my shorts that I just bought last month from my own-earned money, my Mango glasses and the couple shirt he took from me last night.
“I’m a scout, see? I’m all prepared.” He smiled broadly.
I punched him on the arm. “You’re nuts! I should’ve prepared better than this!”
The car stopped and I pushed him out of the car. “Go out! I’m going to dress up. I look like I just walked while sleeping.” I whined.
He hopped out his car. “Okay, easy . . . easy girl.”
I closed the door and dolled up. I tucked my shirt in my shorts, put on my shoes and wore my sunglasses. I jumped down the car and gussied up on the side-mirror. I just had my hair bed-head since I have no brush.
“What are we doing here?” I asked Drew.
“We’re here to picnic.” He said. “No need to state the obvious.” He made a face then sat on the picnic blanket and put out our breakfast. “I’m peckish by the way.” He took a small bite from his hotdog sandwich.
I also sat down, staring at him while chewing his food. Why does he look even cuter when eating? I smiled.
“Hey, don’t stare and smile at me like that!” Drew grumbled. “I can’t eat well!”
Drew’s POV
“I can’t eat well!” I told her. It’s my other way of saying ‘I’m melting’. :”)
