7. Emotion

Syra ran down the floating spiral staircase and gave a delighted squeal; her younger sister, Vixen, was here for the feeding that they were going to tonight.

It had been a long time since Syra had seen Vix and despite Abyssial creatures not being very loving, Syra enjoyed seeing Vix.

Vix clapped, seeming just as excited to see her sister as Syra was to see her. Syra spun around, showing off the near invisible red, sheer dress.

Vix hummed approvingly, taking in her sister's lithe body, trimmed apex and perky breasts bathed in the red sheer.

Syra returned the gester, admiring Vix's sheer blue dress and her own body.

"Nice, I'm sure the Elders will be very pleased," Vix murmured.

Syra felt shock roll through her system. "Elders? Vix we're not feeding from them, it's against law."

"Oh, c'mon Syra, you've been living here for hundreds of years! Don't tell me you haven't fed from one of them."

"And you're telling me you have!" Syra's voice was a near shriek.

Syra was appalled her younger sister had even suggested feeding from an Elder, let alone hinting at the fact she had been with one.

Vix's smile was answer enough for Syra, it implied she had fed more times than Syra could imagine from an Elder....and it had been great.

Syra shook her head, pulling out of her memories.

That had been the thing that drew Syra in; Vix's smile that said feeding and sex with an Elder was beyond great.

That was what destroyed things and developed Syra's immense hatred of her sister.

Syra let out a sigh that seemed to increase the weight upon her shoulders instead of doing the opposite as she slid back into the lobby of the hotel.

She neared the receptionist who snorted with disgust and felt something slowly begin to crack inside her as her past memories swam up again.

Syra attempted to shove them down, she felt more than she should for an Abyssial creature. She chose to blame it on her years banished to Earth, but deep down, she knew she was just this way; she'd always felt more than the others.

Syra felt her throat close with the on-coming of a sob and raced to her room, desperate to escape the eyes of humans.

She yanked open the door after unlocking it and slammed it shut, the sob that had lodged in her throat pouring out.

It was a strange sensation Syra admired and as another ache wracked her heart, another sob left her lips until soon she collasped right in front of the door, a loud, watery mess..

She didn't have to care now that she was alone, she didn't have to care that she was weird. Syra wasn't much different, but because she had been caring about her sister and the fact that she was hurt about the banishment set her apart by scores in the Abyss

It was another reason for her banishment...the other reason for her hatred of her sister.

Syra shook her head, gasping as more tears fell and memories re-opened with a tearing pain.

But just as Syra felt a headache begin to form, a set of warm, firm arms encircling her brought her cries to hiccups and memories to a crashing halt as she twisted around to find Sebastian holding her.

His jade eyes looked at her with such sympathy Syra almost felt angry, but Sebastian's embrace was so comforting she couldn't bring herself to snap at him.

She didn't think about the consequences of doing what she was about to do and she didn't think about how Sebastian hadn't left her room all day because he still wasn't clothed or the fact he wasn't demon or human.

Instead Syra's mind went blank, a blankness that made her elated as she rested her head on his shoulder and wrapped her arms around his body.

More tears squeezed out of Syra's eyes and onto Sebastain's bare shoulder, but the only thing the man did was begin to rub small, comforting circles on her back.

A whimper tore from Syra's throat at the emotions flooding her and surrounding her. She couldn't take it, it was almost killing her.

She forced herself to pull away from Sebastian and he let her. She knew he was staring at her face, wanting to say something, but not once did she look up as she staggered to her bed.

Syra tore her wet, tear stained clothes off as she went and curled up on the bed.

She didn't flinch as weight dipped the bed and Sebastian lay beside her. He didn't try to pull her close or comfort her and Syra was grateful.

She needed to work through this on her own and figure out why she had only slept with Sebastian lately, why she didn't go find someone else to fück, why her sister being here rattled her senses.

She just needed to get to the bottom of everything.
