Tears in the Trees

Alexander's POV
I got up early, I hardly slept. I got ready and set out to the Schuyler residence when I arrive get extremely nervous I began to feel sick to my stomach as I knocked on the door. Angelica comes to the door
"Oh I will go get y/n," she says, I quickly grab her arm and pull her out, I tell her I'm here to talk to her father, so then she goes and gets him we sit in their kitchen and talk
"So why have you come here, son?" he asks
" Well you see sir, I'm here to ask for your blessing in courting one of your daughters"
"Son... Eliza's..." I quickly interrupt him
"Sir I wish to court y/n," I say
"Oh I see, at the ball, I saw you dance with Eliza so I just assumed... my apologies," he says
"It would be my fault I didn't say which daughter I wished to court," I say
"So tell me... Son... what is about Y/n?"
"Well she is very beautiful, but I'm not just looking for looks, her personality sparkles brightly, I love it... she just has this thing about her, I make me feel something, she's the first girl... I have ever... Stressed about if you can even call it stress..."
"Son my Y/n is a delicate girl..." My heart race, does he not want me to be with y/n
"But I have seen the way you look at her, and more importantly the way she looks at you..." he says, my hopes go up a bit
"Treat her right," he says sternly and shakes my hand, I slowly make my way to the door and began to head out, as soon as he closes the door behind me pump my fist in the air and couldn't help but scream
"I CAN COURT HER!!" after that, I see her... Y/n running faster then I have ever seen her run

Y/n POV
I go downstairs after getting ready, as I go I swear I hear Alexander's voice
"Well you see sir, I'm here to ask for your blessing in courting one of your daughters," he says, I confirm that its Alexander's voice, my heart races is he asking for his blessing to court me? I wonder
"Son... Eliza's..." I feel my heart break as my dad says that... he is not here for me... he's here Eliza... I can't hear anything else they say, my eyes swell within A few seconds I run to the living room and cry I hear Alexander
"Well she is very beautiful, but I'm not just looking for looks, her personality sparkles brightly, I love it... she just has this thing about her, I make me feel something, she's the first girl... I have ever... Stressed about if you can even call it stress..." I can't be in here not with him telling my dad about the girl he loves... Eliza... Not me... Eliza... I should have never let my self come so close to him I think. I get up and run... I have to get out of here I haven't heard Alexander in a while... must have gotten the blessing and is now gone, I run out of the living room I run into my father I fall backwards
"y/n are you al-..." I get up and shove him aside an run out the front door without closing, I run pass Alexander... his face lights up as he sees me... more tears weld up and I run... to the park... I almost forgot how to get there... too many thoughts rushing through my mind... I run through bushes they scratch and rip my dress and my hair comes out of the up-do Peggy put it into.
I find the hidden clearing... only I know about this spot, Its so quiet I love it. I sob with my head in my hands up against a tree.

Alexander's POV
I see Y/n I light up, I can't wait to ask her the court me but her face looks red, she looks lost... I see tears weld up in her beautiful e/c eyes she turns away and runs away... I follow her she sobs I call her name but she doesn't stop, either she can't hear me or she is mad at me... I follow her as she stumbles into bushes 'where is she going' I think, we come to a clearing she sits up against a tree and sobs... I rush to her side
"y/n whats-" she gets up to try to run
"what are you doing here?!" she shouts her voice shaken from crying
"seeing if your ok" I respond back trying to keep cool
"why do you care?" she snapped
"Y/n... why wouldn't I care?"
"Because you have Eliza" she yells and starts to run, I grab her wrist and pull her to face me
"what are you talking about?" I ask her
"Your courting Eliza," she says "Just go away, It doesn't matter"
"It does matter y/n," I say
"why?"
"because your crying, it must be serious," I say
"No, just go off with Eliza"
"why are talking about Eliza?" she scrimmages trying to escape my grasp
"aren't you courting her?" she asks.. Where did she get that idea?... I looked at her dumbfounded, Then a clever idea pops into my mind
"does this answer your question?" I pull her close by the waist, she looks scared, but doesn't pull away, before she can respond I press my lips on to hers, at first I thought it would be quick but I put my other hand on her waist pulling her even closer... her lips tasted like honey to me, It felt wonderful... I could have stayed here all day... We exchanged tongues, I had been waiting for too long to do this... We pulled away so looked at me confused
"What about Eliza?" She asked
"What do you mean?" I respond
"Aren't you courting her?"
"No why would you think that?"
"Because I heard you talking to my father, and then he said something like Son... Eliza's"
"Oh y/n" he chuckles "y/n he thought I was courting her because he saw us dancing, he must not have seen us together and so he didn't know. I told him I was wishing to court you... And I got his blessing" y/n's face turned into a smile, I grabbed her by the waist and pulled her into a hug. When we pulled apart it was awkward...
"This wasn't exactly how I was hoping to ask you but Y/n Schuyler may I have the honor of courting you?" I said hoping for a yes
"I would love to," she says sweetly I smile and stare at her
"What?" She asked
"It awkward, that's all"
"How is this awkward?"
"Because I want to kiss you..." I blurt out, I mentally slap my self
"... I want to kiss too..." She says I smile and pull her close and bring her face to mine, our lips collided this time, in a lawful way *smirks*.
