This chapter is shorter than I would like but thats how most first chapters are.

If you can't already tell, the narration is in Eleanor's head. Where she is talking to you.

Don't worry the story will start getting scarier soon!!

I hope you guys will enjoy this book!! Love you all!!!!

I remember the first words my dad said to me, "Welcome home." He was peeping his head out from the front door that was barely even cracked open.

I moved in with my dad after my mom suddenly died, I was about five at the time and didn't think much of it.

Now I'm thirteen and miss my mom so much, but at least I have my amazing sister, well step sister I think, Murphy.

I think thats a nickname for something but I'm not sure, when she first introduced herself to me she told me she was named after Murphy's law.

"Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong."

I personally wasn't a fan of the law, I didn't really agree with it, but she thought it was an amazing thought.

I pulled my house key put from under my shirt and pulled it to the door. The necklace it was pinned to tugged on the back of my neck as i put the key in the grand door and twisted it.

it had so many rooms and halls. There were six rooms on the first floor, the kitchen, dinning room, family room, library, and two lounges.

And five on the second floor, my bed room, two guest bed rooms, my office, and a room I'm not allowed in.

On the third floor there were three, one empty room, Murphy's room, and an office.

On the fourth floor attic space was my dads room I'm not allowed in there either so I cant tell you what it looks like.

As I pushed the door open I could hear the pitter patter of Murphy's little feet squire across the floor.

As soon as I heaved my light blue backpack down on the table she jumped into my arms, shes very clingy and hates when I leave the house.

I starred up at the stair case that split two ways, one way lead to the second floor and one lead to the third.

I waited for a minuet with Murphy in my arms to see if my dad would come and say Hi, although he rarely did.

Alexander, my dad has severe paranoia and anxiety, he wont go to a doctor because he is too scared to leave the house. He usually only goes into the kitchen, library, and his room.
