When the sun finally rose I shot out of the couch, I was waiting for an excuse to get up. I took a few steps away from the couch and placed myself on the cold floor.

Slowly everyone woke up while I was waiting patiently. First Mark woke up, then a few seconds after Dillion woke up, then Dana after a few minuets.

"Well I don't know about you, but I'm really hungry!" Dana shouted as she stood up and started walking away.

Without saying a word Dillion got up and followed her, I watched them as they walked down the hall.

I felt a slight tap on my     shoulder and jerked my head back to seek out the source, but luckily it was just Mark.

He leaned close to my ear and whispered, "So just to be clear, you only have one sister?" His voice was unsure and dim.

I pulled my head away and looked at him, "What do you mean?" I said slowly, what if Murphy came down like that awful version of herself.

"I saw her, but not her." He said quickly, "You said she was nine, but what I saw must have been 18!" His breathing was speeding up with each word.

"Oh." Was my only reply.

"Eleanor you are not safe here." He said as he calmed himself down.

"But I could argue that you aren't safe at your house!" I said defensively, but he was right I'm not safe here.

"Yes! I know!" He said sharply, "But my parents do regular bad parent things, your ghost sister thing is messed up!" His voice was getting louder, I was afraid Dana or Dillion might hear him.

I placed my hand on his shoulder to calm him down, "Im sorry." I said quietly, "But I'm not going to leave her."

"Its not your fault." He said softly matching my tone, "Its her fault, she has made you believe thats she is your sister. Its her fault." He said shaking his head.

I recoiled my hand from his shoulder and stood up, thats not true its is my fault for trusting her. But I can't do anything about it, I'm trapped.

I could hear Marks quiet steps trailing behind me as I walked to the kitchen. Dana and Dillion were talking quietly, what if they heard Mark I panicked. But Dana seemed mad at Dillion, quickly Dillion caught sight of Mark and I and hushed Dana.

"Hey El." He said as he walked towards me, "I bet a lot of people have said this already but your house is awesome!" He looked around the huge kitchen that flooded into the enormous family room.

"A few times." I said jokingly, "I haven't had many people over to comment on my house though."

"Yeah, I know. So are we like the first friends to come over?" Dillion said turning his attention back to me.

"Well sort-" I began but was cut off by Mark.

"Nope. I actually came over a few nights ago, so I was first." He said like it deemed him a title of some sorts.

"Oh, thats cool!" Dana chimed in, she was eyeing Dillion for a while as he talked but now has the usual pep in her voice.

"Yep." Mark replied happily.

I checked the clock, 11:47. We must have slept in, I really don't want them staying for much longer. I need a plan to get them out. I thought to myself. Murphy waters her plants at twelve and even if she doesn't today I want them out by then. Thinking of a plan was harder than I thought, I need something that I have no control over.

"Oh shoot!" I said getting everyones attention, "My dad has a meeting at twelve, he wanted everyone out by eleven thirty!" The lies were just rolling off my tongue, I have lied a lot to my friends so I don't think much of it now.

"What!" Dillion said, "Why didn't you tell us earlier?" He said crossing his arms clearly not believing me.

"I guess I forgot." I said with a shrug.

"Aww, thats okay. Maybe we can come over another time!" Dana said as she skipped down the hallway.

-----🖤-----

Dana called her mom and they packed up and we were ready to go at 11:54. I walked them outside and waved them good bye, Dana actually said goodbye to Mark but Dillion, of corse, didn't.

Mark said bye and started walking down the driveway, I walked back in and looked around for Murphy, it was 12:03 now but no sign of her.

Ignoring it I went up to my room and laid on my bed, I don't feel as safe in here but I'm tired and need a break. Plus Murphy said she would never hurt me.

After about twenty minuets I heard a faint voice, it was shouting my name, I jumped off my bed and walked around my room listening.

I targeted the voice, it was coming from outside. Cautiously I walked to my balcony door and peeked through the curtain, but no one.

I unlocked and pulled open the door peeping my head out slightly. I saw a figure waving their arms around and yelling for me.

I took a closer look and saw Mark, what is he doing here? I stepped out and called for him.

"Mark!" I shouted leaning over the railing.

"Oh hey!" He said halting his jumps, "Can I come in?" He said resting his hands on his knees.

I couldn't say no, I slammed the door shut and rushed downstairs. I heaved open the huge door, he was waiting there.

I grabbed his arm and pulled him inside, I shut and locked the door then pushed him into the lounge, "Why did you come back?" I said quietly.

"I never left." He stated calmly.
