Chapter 14

Your eye fluttered open suddenly, sleep clenched tightly onto you as you felt your head throb in pain.
Everything was a blur, a painful confusing blur.
You ignored the way your teeth chattered from the little clothing you had in. You attempted to control your heavy breathing as your heart thumped rapidly inside your rib cage. You squinted your eye instinctively as you attempted to focus on your surroundings.

This is not the first time you've woken up in the middle of the night like this.
For the past few week or so you've woken up in cold sweat.
Faces of strangers appearing in your dreams. Violent confusing images flashed through your mind. Distant screams echoed in your head.

Why?
What does it mean?
Did something happen?

You held your head, fingers gripping the roots of your hair tightly. No matter how hard you try you can't clearly remember the past few weeks.
You try to put the little pieces of information together, but there's always gaps.

You've already questioned Bum about this multiple times. The skinny man would only avoid your gaze as an uncomfortable forced smile appeared on his lips. "Maybe you just need some rest, (Y/N)."

Sangwoo was no better. Waving you off with the flick of his wrist.
"Don't worry about it."

You hated it. You hated not knowing what happened.
The little things things that you did recall only seemed to bring on more questions.

Who were those two strangers?
Why do you recall white flashing lights?
Why can you hear the shuttering sound of a camera going off in the faint distance?
Whose anguished screams and desperate pleas are echoing in your conscience?

A frustrated sigh passed your chapped lips.
Your body began to shake, you couldn't stop it. You didn't know if it's from the winter cold that seeped into the old house or from the frustration and anger that's building inside your bruised body.
A sudden urge to yell and scream loomed over you, hot tears started to form in the corner of your eye. You quickly wiped them away before it could roll down your face.
You hated this feeling.
A piece of you felt missing. Something happened. And no ones willing to tell you.
