Asher
"We've also been keeping a very close eye on your precious princess." His deep demonic voice resonated against the metal-layered room.
My blood boiled and I wanted this Shadow to suffer but if there comes isolation then insanity would make him begging for us to take his life. I stepped forward with my chin lifted higher. I was no afraid of something so fragile.
"Dare to threaten me again and you will never make it out of this situation alive." I lowered my tone and glared straight into its red eyes with my dark and dangerous ones. My chocolate orbs have turned black and they could pierce through someone's soul. I will bring Anabelle down from her desires and dreams. Still will never get a hold of my family or a tiny bit of this kingdom.
"Men, grab the maid's body and a couple of you bring her out of this room. After all of us leaves, we will seal off this room and make this Shadow rot in this cell. Insanity is the best torture device. Make him pay." I demanded sternly. I declared all of this without making eye contact with any of the guards but rather stare into the nonexistent soul of the Shadow.
"Anabelle dared to threaten my family, then I will rain hell down upon her." I mumbled with a hard tone. I sensed Caleb stand right behind my shoulder and lifted his hand to place it on me to calm me down, but that was not possible. I wanted to get my message across in case Anabelle was watching through this Shadow's eyes.
Anything was possible and I will not be backing down to my older sister. She will never win after all her actions of selfishness.
I turned away from the Shadow as if hung around the opposite corner with a threatening scowl but that did not bother me. I was the last to leave the room and I slammed the door behind me. Why the Shadow did not chose to attack was beyond me but that did not allow me for to lose my guard. I vowed to stay on high alert and I knew that all the man would do the same as well.
Anabelle must be near if she allowed the Shadow to possess the maid's body.
I froze the thoughts that raced through my mind when I reached the top of the staircase. Everyone stood in the hallway and waited for me to shut the door behind me. I sighed when I did. A headache grew increasingly by the second but I figured that it was from the lack of energy.
I looked at Caleb for initiation then he nodded once at my signal.
"As many of you are familiar with your stations inside, I expect you all to not leave your post. You are all to travel in a group of four in case some danger comes your way. Nothing is safe anymore and double check everything and everyone before trusting it." He paused then looked at me.
"If there are any concerns, seek out King Asher or me. Make sure that every little thing must be said. A change in behavior is definitely a sign, so look for those too besides the obvious." He then stopped and looked at every man there for confirmation. They nodded to his instructions.
"Please do pass the message on to the other guards." I chimed in before they were dismissed by the captain. They bowed their heads and walked down the hallway in long strides. I waited until they were out of sight before I let my breathe out and sighed heavily.
Cameron, Derek, and Caleb stood by silently to see what I was going to do next but I wasn' t sure myself. What was I going to do? I had to deal and prepare our force against Anabelle but I also had to stay by Violet and my children to make sure they were alright at all times. I ran a hand through my hair in frustration and looked at the three men slowly.
Their expressions were clearly worried but they were looking at me for my input in this situation.
"What are you going to do now? They say that they've been watching Alexandria but-" Caleb started but stopped when I interrupted.
"And they got close to her earlier. If it weren't for Violet and her mother then who knows what they would've happened to my daughter." I stated while looking at the ground but back up at them to see their reactions. It was stagnate from the men so I just shook my head and didn't continue.
Cameron placed a hand on my shoulder from where he stood beside me. I smiled slightly at his concern.
"Since Alexandria and Zayden get along, then I suggest they stay together in the same room. If anything, have at least one trusted guard watch them from the inside." He suggested and I agreed since I was going to propose that question on the couple so I glanced at Cameron and Derek to see if they were up for the offer, in which they were without a moment's hesitation.
I thanked them for their generous time and devotion to protecting my children and I bowed my head in gratitude. The two walked off down the hallway while Caleb and I strolled off on the other end towards our bedrooms.
Our wives were most likely waiting for us, so I branched off and bide Caleb my goodbyes as soon as I heard Alexandria and Violet's whispers through the closed door.
I peeked my head in quietly and saw the two mother and daughter chatting away in very quiet whispers while Zayden slept soundly.
I walked up beside Violet and rubbed her back to see that she has healed and is well. I smiled then kissed her forehead. I then kneeled down and kissed Alexandria's forehead with a big smile on her face.
"How are you, my beautiful butterfly?" I asked in a hushed manner.
"I'm very well, daddy." She replied with a brilliant smile.
"That's very good, baby." I replied then snuck a glance at her sleeping brother. His soft snores could still be heard in all our chattering but this family seemed like any other ordinary one. We were united and at peace.
The little butterfly yawned, which signaled for Violet and I to exit the room and let her rest. I kissed her forehead once more and walked to the door, waiting for Violet to come out with me.
She closed the door slowly and quietly until the soft click of the door sounded.
Cameron and Derek were standing nearby and walked up to us as soon as we walked out the room. I smiled to them and nodded once.
Violet and I walked down the hallway towards the office to discuss the upcoming matters. I knew that Violet wanted to know the details and be a part of whatever was to come, so I grabbed onto her hand and kissed the back of it as we walk towards my office.
