The Deafening Silence

I found myself sitting on a park bench,
Head buried in my hands, soul begging to be quenched.
I felt a warm touch brush against my arm,
Realized that it was just a kiss of wind which made me calm.

With my happiness and love, you left,
And got away with that grand theft.
Now the creaking sound of crying wood is the only thing I hear,
The salty water dried long back wishing you wear near.

It's been so long since you've been gone,
Yet, I vividly remember  the day when you came along.
This same day. The same old bench. The same sunset. The same old tree.
Every thing is so similar yet different, Because you are supposed to be here beside me.

Not long ago, had you sat down being ridiculously boisterous,
And I being a normal one, thought it was preposterous.
You didn't let me leave and made my soul enthuse,
That was the day, I chose you to be my muse.

A year after, I sat at the same bench completely boggled.
As you knelt down, with a diamond ring that had me dazzled.
'Yes'  was all I could mutter after wiping the tears rolling down my eyes for the hundredth time,
As you claimed our love, our life, and I quote - "Ever thine, Ever mine.''

Now, after all these years , I have nothing but the flame lit by your intricacies,
As I paint the canvas with your memories.
I look down upon the magnificent stone on my hand, a reminiscence of our alliance,
And I cover my ears, not being able to take anymore the deafening silence.
