Happy Birthday (Chapter 9)

* Zarianna's POV *

I was able to finish unpacking right before they called us to lunch. Just like school, they have a sound system to inform us whenever. Kels said that different jinggles play everytime before meals, before classes and before the time for chores. When i told her it was catchy, she scoffed and said i'll get sick of it in no time. That made me think, will i be in here as long to get sick of that jingle?

To be honest, I'm not much mad that my parents put me in here, in fact, if i had a child acting up, i'd probably do the same. The faster i accept that i have this "phychosis" as Collen said, the faster i'll better. That's the case... right?

"Hey Zari? Stop staring at your laptop,  they might eat up the food like pigs. " Kels called out, leaning on the door frame.

I snapped back into reality realizing that i've been starting at the desktop. I don't even want to know how long i was staring.

"Coming. " i called back as ran after her. Together, we made it to the kitchen. There, i noticed that there was 3 tables.

On one, there were 4 women seated, two of them were Roberta and Colleen whilst the other two i have not met yet.

On the other, there were three girls and a boy. The two girls seem like they were in their own little world. The other two was obviously flirting. My nose wrinkled at the sight of this.

Lastly, the other table had two guys, one of them looked obsessed with his PSP and the other looked really hungry.

I followed her into the kitchen and watched as she did what seems to be the daily routine. She took a plate for herself and passed me another. She grabbed two sets of utensils and handed me one. Then, we made our way to the counter across and there, we were greeted by two different types of pastas: Spaghetti and Mac & Cheese. She filled her plate half with spaghetti and the other with mac & cheese. I looked at her wide eyed as it has literally filled. The girl is so skinny though! Then, she gave way for me and i took half a plate of mac & cheese. I don't really like spaghetti.

I followed her as she went to sit down on the table with the two boys. "Hey guys. This is Zari. " Kels introduced me. I smiled at them as they went and introduced thenselves. "I'm Justice and this is Tobi. " he pointed at the boy with untouched food and eyes trained on the PSP. Justice then went back into his food as did i.

Another tune then filled our ears while everyone got up, and left their plates on the counter near the sink, i mimicked their actions. They all seperated and as Kel has said a few while we were unpacking, it was time for chores.

I watched everyone disperse whilst Roberta made her way towards me, who was standing stranded in the middle of the kitchen. "Zarianna, you can stay in your room we'll give you your chore list later on. " she informed. I nodded and walked upstairs to the room i share with Kels.

I dived onto my new soft bed and whipped out my phone. I took a look at the time, 12:57pm. It was lunchtime back in cleardell. I dialled Rhay's number and not long did she pick up.

I was greeting by a loud screech of my name, "ZARIANNA ALEXSIS DAVIS! Where are you and why aren't you in school!? "

I chuckled as i began feeling down, missing her. "Hey... "

"What hey!? No 'hey'! Explain! "

"I'm sorry... It's just that my parents... " i waited for a response but there was none. It was like she became serious. I comtinued, "They thought i went physco yesterday and put me into this house that they believe will help me. "

She stayed quiet on the other line,  "W.. What? " her soft voice said.

"I know, it's stupid and they did all thay in just one day... I couldn't fight back. I mean, they were right. I have gone deranged. "

"No... You haven't... " was all that came out of her.

"What makes you so sure? " i murmured.

"Look, Zar. I love you so so so so much but i have to go. I promise i'll text you. "

"Oh... Okay. Bye Rhay. " i hung up. Huh... That was a little off...

Just on cue, a girl knocked on the door and made her way in without getting permission. She was the girl who was talking with her best friend during lunch.

"Sorry for disturbing but chores are chores. " was all she said as she went over to Kel's bed and took off all the sheets and began to replace them with new ones.

"Hi new girl, i'm Eve. " she said casually while changing the sheets on the pillows.

"It's Zari. Hi Eve. " i formally said.

"I'd love to be your friend. You seem to be the type of person to have fun. " she commented.

"That's somewhat true. " i chuckled.

"And probably no one yet has told you why they've been stuffed in here. "

I nodded.

"Let me be the first. I have a thing such as a borderline personality. Mood swings, impulsive behavior, you name it. That's not enough to put me in here but my reputation isn't really known for being a good kid. I steal things, i break in into houses, i sneak out. I do whatever a normal teenager doesn't do. Get on my bad side and well, good luck. " she said so casually im shocked. Eve continued, "What's yours? "

Seeing as i didn't answer she comtinued talking, "Whatever. Everyone opens up. One way or another. " i nodded slowly, "Looks like i'm done. See you around, Zari. "

Eve seems to be... Badass. I like her.

After she left, i recieved a text from Rhay asking me for the address of this place. I hesitated before giving her the address.

"Happy Birthday, Zari. " I heard someone say from behind me. Kels walked into the room wiping her palms on her jeans.

"How did you... "

"I saw your twitter. Shitty day you're having and it's your birthday? "

I scoffed, "Yeah but at least i don't get to celebrate it.

"Ah. You're one of those people. " She concluded said as she got into her laptop.

" By the way, Roberta requested to call you. Something about your schedule. " Kel said whist typing and not taking her eyes off the computer.

I nodded, even though she wouldn't have seen it and left the room. I made my way to the office as i spotted Roberta behind the desk.

All we did was discuss my class schedule and chores. I'm glad to say that all classes each were 30 minutes long and only lasts half a day. After that she dismissed me to get ready for dinner.

Dinner didn't have much a difference from Lunch, i even sat with the same people. I talked a lot more with Justice and Tobi, mostly Justice.

Since it was a friday night, they said it was movie night so we gathered in that computer room i was told about before. We all sat on a really long couch, i was beside Kels and Justice.

We watched deadpool, requested by Eve. You'd think they wouldn't allow people like them-- us watch these kinds of movies but you'd be wrong.

I watched this movie a lot before but i laughed along and laughed especially at their reactions.
