Chapter 8

Amara's POV

"Happy new year."

"Well, new year isn't looking so happy now." commented Theo while scratching the back of his head.

"Who could've done this?" I asked them.

"We have many enemies, but it isn't hard to guess who it was.." Rome replied while fixing his glasses.

"Humans?" I whispered while processing the situation.

"Don't worry Amara, it isn't the first time." Damien said patting my head.

"But it is the first time in 30 years." Theo replied which earned him a glare from Elias.

"In 30 years? You mean since the last revolt?" I could only guess what this had meant. All 4 of them were mortal now, it would be a perfect chance to harm them and the werewolf community as a whole.

"We'll talk about this later. Let's go to the town, I have made reservations at a hotel. We'll be leaving tomorrow." Elias said while taking my hand gently while leading the way.

While we were talking, the fire truck was already at work and the fire had been controlled.(A/N For all the people worried that the house was still on fire while they were talking).

"Where will we be going?" I asked Theo while Damien, Elias and Rome were checking in the hotel.

"Every year, the elders and the important people have a meeting. Our presence is a must. But it usually happens in summers..I guess our house wasn't the only target." He replied while checking the receptionist out.

"I am a human." I told him.

"Thanks for telling me, I was wondering if you were a llama or something." He said while rolling his eyes.

I playfully hit his shoulders. "No you assbutt, will I be allowed there?"

"Assbutt? And they can't stop you. Unless they don't want us to be there." He said smiling. "Don't worry, everyone will be kind. Except for um, you'll know when you see her."

"We have checked in, go freshen up yourself. We'll have to go shop for some clothes." Damien said while handing us our keys.

We all did as mama Damien commanded and met each other at the hotel lobby in the evening to go shop for clothes and eat dinner outside.

After shopping for casual clothes (since most of our shit was burnt) we had to go buy some formals for the gathering so we entered a shop.

As we entered, Theo grabbed my hand and dragged me in while squealing out in a girly voice. "Oh my god honey, shopping is the best! Kyuuuu~"

I huffed and stomped my foot on the floor while replying in a deep voice."I hate shopping."

Damien, Elias and Rome walked at a distance from us, pretending to be strangers.

We all bought our choice of clothes, refusing to show each other until the night of the gathering. It was two days from now.

So, Theo already told that every year this gathering takes place during summers. The werewolf elders and recognised people from the community take part in this gathering which is a political one. Some new rules are made, and some old ones are demolished. The date and location of the gathering is only known to the members in order to prevent any attacks. While in the gathering, everyone's wolf is in control while the human side is in the back. There is also good food.

After shopping and having dinner, everyone returned to their rooms. I was just about to change into my pajamas when I heard a knock on the door. I looked through the peephole and saw that it was Elias.

I opened the door while smiling. "Hi."

"Oh great, you haven't changed yet. I was wondering if you wanted to go for a short night walk." He said while his eyes gleamed with hope.

"I don't know, I prefer long ones." I teased. (A/N That's what she said.)

"Your wish is my command." He smiled while bowing. "Let's go." He offered his hand and I gladly took it.

The walk was pleasant. We talked a lot and shared laughs and smiles. He insisted me to call my parents during the walk which made me a little sad remembering all the memories while talking to them but he caressed my head the whole time, letting me know that he was there.

He said goodnight as he dropped me back to my room but I couldn't let him go without kissing his cheek and saying goodnight myself and then quickly banging the door at his face. I saw his expression through the peephole and it was that of a subtle shock.

The next morning, we set out early for the city of Petra (A/N Attack on titan fans put your hands up) where the gathering was supposed to take place. It is around 10 hours away from Lyon and we were hoping to reach there by dinner time we did.

The next day, I hung out with Rome and Damien while Theo and Elias had gone out to see the arrangements and meet a few people. Rome and Damien showed me around the city and fed me delicious food so I was really happy. I wasn't loading on them in anyway though, because I paid for my own clothes and hotel room but who can deny free food.

By evening we all went to our rooms to get ready for the gathering. I put on my dress and some make up (A/N Insert make up tutorial here) to go with it.

Looking at the mirror I wondered if everything would go okay tonight. I was hoping it would. What could possibly go wrong, right?
