Purp127, I hope this has the Amara-Elias interaction you've been waiting for.
After this I will be updating very slowly since I have decided to focus on my studies more. I will be updating once or twice in 2 weeks. Happy reading ^^.
Amara's POV
"There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was a light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."
Rome closed the book. He would read me a few lines everyday while sitting next to me. I could not respond to him in any way, so he probably didn't even know that I could hear every word he said. The book he was reading was called The Return of The King by J.R.R. Tolkien. I remember him reading the title out loud along with the author's name when he first started reading for me.
I believe it had been around 4-5 days since I had been conscious about what was going around me, but I wasn't sure how long it had been since I had been lying on this bed. I could recall what all had happened to me on that godforsaken day. I was sure that it had been Elias who had saved me.
But ever since I could tell what was happening around me, there wasn't even a single visit from Elias. I could sense Damien changing the sheets, Theo who would come with his laptop and popcorn and would watch movies beside me and talk to me as if I was listening, Rome, and a nurse who would change my clothes and give me a sponge bath and did the other necessities.
Elias hadn't come a single day. I didn't know what to think of it. I really wanted to see him, I really needed him by my side. I could only hope that nothing bad had happened to him and that everything was alright.
"Amara, wake up now or I will tell you the spoilers from all the Game of Thrones episodes you have missed." Theo shouted as he entered the room.
He better not, or he won't be there to see any winter coming.
"It has already been 2 weeks, the doctor said she should wake up by now." Damien commented from somewhere within the room. "Elias has been going crazy, it has been so hard to control him."
When his name was mentioned, I could feel my heartbeat going faster. I wanted to wake up, I needed to. What Damien had said implied that there was something wrong and I had to know. I tried my hardest and my best to open my eyes from whatever state of darkness I was in. Slowly I could feel my lids opening. I closed and opened them a few times to adjust them to the lighting.
"She is gaining consciousness." Rome stated.
I looked around the room. Rome was sitting next to me on a chair, Theo was still standing at the entrance of the door looking dumbfounded, while Damien was sitting next to the window.
"If we just had to mention Eli-ass's name to wake her up, we should've done it sooner!" Theo said as he came next to me. "How are you feeling?"
I tried to speak but my throat was very dry. I motioned for a glass for water which Damien got for me within seconds. Rome helped me sit up and then handed me the water. I drank it slowly and then placed the glass on the table next to me.
"I'm good. I'm just happy that now I can tell you to stop playing your boring ass movies and put on some real shit." I said while coughing a little. "Thank you for reading the book to me Rome. It was beautiful."
Theo's eyes were widened while Rome smiled at me and Damien chuckled.
"Are you guys okay? Were you hurt?" I asked looking at them for any injuries.
