Gang House, King William Street, City, 4:52am, Wednesday
Elise's POV:"Come here little girl. I don't bite." the lady sneered, her voice oozing poison. I cry, my face red and sore.
"I-I c-can't... Y-you, you ch-chain-" I'm cut off by her shushing me.
"No... Behave, little girl." she corrects, whipping my bare back. I whimper, tears stinging my face.
"Please, stop! I'm sorry!" I plead, abut she doesn't stop, she never does.
"Why would I do that to my little girl?" she asks rhetorically, pouring the boiling water down my back.
"Stop!" I scream, shooting up from my bed. I breathe heavily, tears streaming down my face. I wipe them away fiercely. No, no, no... It's just a dream.
There's a short knock on my door and my eyes shoot to it. "Who is it?" I try, but it comes out as a half whisper. I turn my lamp on as Kay sticks his head in my room, face pink.
"C-can I come i-in?" he stutters, eyes pleading. I give a small nod, pushing my back up against the bed head. He crawls on to my bed and slumps on my shoulder.
"Why are you awake?" I ask, rubbing his shoulder soothingly since he's obviously shaken up. He's sort of like a brother to me, one I've never had.
"Night terror..." he mumbles, hugging my torso.
"Yeah, me too." I sigh, checking the time on my phone. "Hey, it's five thirty. You want to go for a jog?"
"OK, might as well. At least I can run if I can't fight." he agrees, mumbling the last part. We pull apart and I stretch, multiple bones clicking. I really need a new pillow.
"Why don't you go get dressed, have some breakfast?" I suggest, stepping into the cold hardwood flooring. "Ahh! Cold!" I yelp, jumping back on my bed. He chuckles, causing me to smile. "OK, now move along, child." I say, shooing him with my hands.
Once he's gone I make the daring trip to my dresser and take out some clothes. To be exact, a Tinkerbell singlet, a blue long sleeve top, a bright yellow T-shirt, two pairs of blue leggings, two pairs of socks and a beanie. Oh, and gloves. After five minutes it's all on and I slide on my socks to my bathroom. I brush my teeth and ruffle my hair. OK, done.
I skip down the hall and slide all the way down the stairs railing. I land perfectly, like always, and bounce to the kitchen island where Kay is eating Vegemite on toast.
"Ew, how can you eat that?" I scrunch up my nose.
"Pff! Bore bot Nossie if boo bon't like Wegifite!" he... SPITS VEGEMITE ALL OVER ME! Oh well. Anyway, he makes no sense.
"You're an apricot." I state, grabbing the packet of cookies. I open the fridge and get out the milk... And cookie dough.
"Is fat poclate hip?" He asks, pointing at my food.
"Yeah, and you're getting none of it. You're not lucky enough to get eternal skinniness."
"You suck." he states, pouting. He looks like a cat... Meow.
"And you swallow." I smirk, shoving cookies in my mouth. His jaw drops. Ew, he still has Vegemite in his mouth... Gross.
"You just got burned!" Duke stretches, coming out from the hall behind me. He pecks me on the cheek and I blush. "Hey, Snowflake."
"Ugh, I hate you both." Kay groans and swings on his chair.
"Pff, no you don't! You wove me!" I shout, probably waking up numerous people that I don't give two unicorn horns about. Wait, unicorn horns are too special... Dammit.
"Whatever!" he groans, I chuckle.
I shove the last of the cookie dough in my mouth and frown. They're gone already? Dammit.
"Hey, Kay, you ready? Let's go." I say, quickly filling up two water bottles. He nods and I notice something he has on that I don't.
Shoes.
How could I forget shoes? I quickly run up, grab my Nike's and strap them on. I slide back down the railing and into Dukes arms. Pff, probably been waiting to do that... Why am I complaining?
"Nice shoes, Snowflake." he smiles, referring to my rainbow colored Nike's.
"Well, obviously! They're rainbow." I state in a 'duh' tone. He chuckles, letting me down softly.
"Ugh! Stop with all this lovey dovey crap! Seriously, I don't have a girlfriend, so you can't make out in front of me. Capiche?" Kay orders, scrunching up his face.
"You're just too ugly to get a girlfriend." I state and run out the front door laughing my arse off. I slow down to a reasonable speed and wait for him to catch up.
"You're an ass!" he yells, gaining the lead. Pff, I'm not even trying.
"No! I'm an arse!" I yell back, jogging with ease while he struggles to keep the small lead. "Turn at the park, you butt!"
"Silence, Beastie!" he shouts. I kick his butt and he yelps running faster. Is that Blake?
I slow down to a halt, staring at the tattooed dude with messy brown hair. I poke him, causing him to jerk up, eyes on mine instantly. He has purple bags under his eyes and looks exhausted.
"Elise? What are you doing here?" he asks, his voice low and groggy. That is so hot.
Wait, what?
"Oh, me and Kay - KAY, GET YOUR BUTT OVER HERE! We're just going for a jog." I explain, stopping to yell at Kay who was still running.
"You should have told me you stopped!" he whines, eyes soon wondering to Blake. "Who's the tattooed dude?"
"That's Blakeley Bloo." I introduce, hardly holding in my laughter. Blake snaps his head to me and glares, sending me up in a fit of laughter.
"It's Blake. What are you doing here?"
"Jogging." I state, furrowing my eyebrows at the accent. What was that?
"At five thirty?" he asks, looking at me like I'm crazy. Well, it's not twenty-six thirty, is it?
"Yeah... Why are you here?" I counter. Ha! Pff, he got nothing.
"I needed some air."
"At five thirty?"
"Shut up."
"Whatever you say, Blakeley Bloo!"
Hehe, I'm such an arse.
