Woodville Highschool, Woodville Road, Woodville, Wednesday, 11:47am
Elijah's POV:I sit here, at my desk, in Calculus, still staring at the fifth question on the test. What does h equals something, uh, pineapples... Ugh, they lost me at blah, blah, blah... Even mean? I don't know, but, something I do know, is that I've been sitting here for almost three hours and I'm only on question five. Freya finished ten minutes ago!
Ugh... This is why, I hate school. Smart people make me look stupid. Not that I ain't, everything on this piece of paper actually looks like mumbo-jumbo to me. I yawn, scratching my head.
Then the bell goes.
YES! I scramble out my seat, kicking it away, run to the door and slam into it as a way of opening it. I get out and let out a giant sigh of relief.
"Holy fuck, I was in there forever." I mutter, stretching as people walk out class rooms lifelessly.
"Three hours, actually. You were only in there for three hours." Freya corrects, walking out in front of me. I speed walk up to her, slowing down once I catch up.
She's wearing faded denim shorts and a cute white top with the words "Higher Intellectual? Right Here" in bold. I'd agree with that. She also has her hair up in a fishtail braid that starts at the top of her head and finishes just below her shoulders.
"Why are you following me?"
"Because I'm a lost puppy." I answer instantly, grinning. She rolls her eyes and chuckles airily. She looks up at me with curiosity.
"You're cute. You know, for a giant." she smiles, which is obviously fake. I squint my eyes at her and squeeze my lips. "What?"
"That's not a real smile, Kamili." I say, shaking my head. Her smile drops, turning into a scowl. She turns away quickly, whipping me with her hair, walking off. "Hey!"
"I swear, you come any closer, and I slit your fucking throat. Okay?" she warns, stopping, but not turning to me.
I stay still, not really shocked, but a little surprised. She huffs and walks off through the canteens double doors, shoving them open. Um... Okay then! I will never understand girls. I mean, if I were supposed to, you'd think it'd be after seventeen years of growing up with nine of them.
"Elijah! Dude, there's a basketball team, and I've already signed us all up. You're welcome." Alex states, slapping my back. I stare at him.
"You're an idiot."
"Pff, I'm a genius. You're just saying that because you're jealous of my brilliant brains." he says, walking backwards, knocking into a girl. "Oh, sorry, pretty lady."
The girl stares at him, turning freaking red when he winks at her. "I-it's my f-f-fault, it's fine." she stutters, grinning.
"I wouldn't girly, he comes with STD's." I whisper to her, hand at the side of my mouth. Her face screws up and Alex's jaw drops.
"No, I don't!" he denies, but the girl had already walked away. "You are such a dick head."
"Bullshit, I'm fantastic." I state, walking around him to the canteen. As soon as I walk in, eruptions of chatter cover my ears. Holy shit it's loud in here. I spot Blake... With Elise... On his shoulders. What the hell even is this?
"This place is a mad house." Alex mutters next to me. I nod my head in agreement. Sure is.
