Hurry Up, Hurry Up, Hurry Up!

"Woo! I won, again! Yes I won, I won again! And you lost, yes you did!" Elise sang as she skipped over where we agreed would be the finishing. She won, again, for seventh fucking time. Ugh...

"Ugh, whatever. I'm over this now, let's go somewhere." I grumble, walking over to my backpack. We're at the park near school, we've been here since school ended about an hour ago. I grabbed my water bottle out my bag, taking a few gulps.

"Where? Also... You going to ask me on a date any time soon?" she asks, causing me to choke on the water I was drinking and eyes to turn into saucers. She laughs at my reaction and takes a drink herself. She jumps over and sits on the grass, legs crossed.

"Uh, um... I-I, um, I guess? I-I don't know... Do you want to, um, g-go on a date?" I stutter, looking down and scratching behind my neck. Stupid question, oh, God, I am absolutely terrible at this.

"Sit." I go sit beside her, knees bent in front of me. She laughs, then punches me playfully., "Yes, you idiot."

"OK..." Think, think, you stupid brain... "You want to go ice skating and eat pizza and candy and, um, yeah..."

"You said pizza and candy, that's good enough for me." she grins, slipping her arms around my shoulders, then throwing one leg over my lap. "Now, carry me, peasant."

Calm down, Blake. It's just a date. Just, don't be awkward. It'll be fine, right? Yeah... Definitely. Hopefully. Maybe... Probably not.

I finally straighten my back and ring the doorbell. I hear a muffled argument, a groan and a small thump. There's the tap of feet and soon the wooden front door swings open.

"Um-" I start but am cut off by, who I think is, Freya, but the lights are dim and cut a harsh shadow over her.

"Oh. My. God. You look fucking adorable!" she exclaims, gesturing to what I'm wearing.

"Is, uh, is Elise here?" I ask, scratching just above the collar of my hoodie.

"Yeah." She answers. I was about to ask her if she could go get her, when she yelled out, "ELISE!"

"WHAT?" I'm assuming, Elise yelled back.

"YOUR BOYFRIEND IS HERE!" Freya yelled again, there was a hint of something in her voice. A scurry of feet are heard before Elise's pale face pokes out over the stair s. She grins and slides down the stairs railing.

"Hey! Blakeley Bloo!" She says, wodling over in a giant winters coat.

I laugh, "What are you wearing?"

"Well, we're going ice skating, aren't we?"

"Yeah, but it's not outside. Why would it be? We never get cold enough weather." I say, grinning. She looks adorable, though.

"Oh, yeah. Well, I won't be needing this then." she says, taking off the coat, revealing a white and blue sweater. I laugh, hardly believing she could survive with that much clothes on.

"Yeah, I'm still here, y'know. But I'll, I'll leave..." Freya says and scurries up the stairs. Well, okay then.

"So... Let's go?" I ask, extending my arm to her. She grins and takes my hand. She looks up at me, grinning and biting on her tongue. So cute.

"Mm hm." she hums, the slowly rising moon light twinkling in her blue eyes. "I wish it was winter already."

"It is. First day of June." I chuckle, opening the door of the car for her. I had got ready at Elijah's earlier and borrowed his car too, since I don't have one.

"So, what first? Food or skating?" I ask after I run around into the drivers side. I start up the motor and flick up the blinker, turning onto the road.

"I would say food, but I just ate a bucket of popcorn so, yeah. We'll need to get some chips there." she grins.

We start talking. It's probably rubbish, and mostly puns, but it's laced in laughter. It makes it fun though. Soon it dies down and Elise goes to turn on the radio, and, after doing so, turns the volume up to a ridiculous level.

"YES! THIS, THIS IS FLIPPING FABTABULOUS!!" She screams as Semi-automatic by Twenty One Pilots booms through the car. Holy shit... "Night falls, with gravity! The earth turns, from sanity! Taking my only friend I know, he lives a lie, his name is Hope! I'm never what I like,
I'm double-sided! And I just can't hide, I kinda like it, when I make you cry, 'cause I'm twisted up, I'm twisted up, inside!"

I start laughing hysterically as we pull up at a stop light and she keeps yelling through the lyrics. "Oh, God..." I laugh, my cheeks starting to hurt from all the grinning I'm doing. The song ends and her face scrunched up as some soppy love song comes on.

"HELL NO! I want more pilots you stupid assholes! Twenty one isn't enough!!" she complains and turns off the radio. "What kind of music do you like?"

I shrug. "I don't know, anything with a fast beat, I guess."

"Good! I'd have to murder you if you liked some opera crap." she says, sounding kind of relieved.

I turn into a side street next to the ice rink and pull up on the curb. I turn off the engine and jump out, quickly making my way onto the sidewalk. Elise gets out too and I lock the car.

"Hurry up, hurry up, hurry up!" She shouts, jumping up and down like a little kid. She grabs my elbow and drags me towards the entrance, causing me to almost trip. I quickly gain my footing and catch up to her, wrapping an arm around her waist.

"Okay, okay." I laugh, a stupid grin on my face as we walk through the sliding glass doors. While I go and pay for us to get in, Elise skips off to the kiosk. I chuckle, thanking the lady, then deciding to go over and wait for Elise on a bench. I soon realize my phone vibrating in my pocket.

"Hello?" I say, answering the unknown number. My blood runs cold as I hear who's voice comes through.

"Hello, son."
