Chapter 3
I groaned as I opened my eyes, looking up to see gold and yellow eyes looking down at me.
"Are you okay?" Daniel asked, his eyes filled with curiosity and the tiniest hint of worry.
"Oh I'm just dandy." I said sarcastically.
"Wow, you would think you might be a little more nice. Possibly forgiving." Aaron's voice said. I looked over to see him standing there pridefully, a few young teens at his back.
"I don't remember you forgiving me for throwing my car off a road, then getting your ass saved by me. So, I am not sure what I should be forgiving for!" I snapped. I shifted into an upright position and looked at the many faces surrounding me. "No offence, but can I have some space?" The people stepped back giving me some space to breathe. I took a deep breath and stood up.
"So, you are the last of the Assualted ones?" Stefan asked.
"I guess?" I answered back. I still didn't know anything about my history. This was all a waste of time, all I knew was that I was still alone.
"Well, then you should leave. Our pack was not on the best of terms with your pack." Stefan said. I could see the arrogant alpha male in him, it was sickening. That's when it hit me, they were the pack that killed my pack!
"It was your pack wasn't it! Your pack killed mine!" I said my voice low and menacing.
"Your pack was a disgrace to our kind! Some were mated with vampires for godsake!" Stefan bellowed. Tremors ripped through my body, anger filled my veins. Stefan took a step back, ushering his people back with him. I almost smiled at the quiet fear radiating off of them.
But, I couldn't do this, they were wolves, too. Some packs rival, mine had just lost.
"Calm." I whispered. I felt my body stop shaking and the anger faded slightly. I slowly turned and began to walk away, leaving the young wolves behind. "Oh, by the way, there is a clan of vampires not to far from here. I know you don't know, because little Aaron here was almost killed by one who couldn't have been older than six months. So, if you ever need help with killing vampires, call me." I pulled a small piece if paper out of my pocket, I always kept a few cards in there. I flicked the card on the ground and walked away.
I weaved through the forest and headed back for the town. After a slightly calming walk I had made it back to town, I went straight for the autoshop to pick up my car.
Bill was sitting on a chair, he was chewing on what looked like a tuna sandwich.
"Hello." I said, looking at him.
"Heyoo. Well I fixed up your car. It wasn't to be, it'll be 'bout $300." Bill said, swallowing a bite. I sighed and yanked my wallet out of my pocket.
"You take checks?" I asked, Bill nodded. I smiled and quickly wrote down a check for Bill. I ripped it out of the book and handed it to him. I looked at my beautiful car and unlocked the door. I slid into the seat and revved the powerful engine. "Hey Bill? Where is a motel?" I asked before shutting the door.
"Just up the road! Its called Shrikety Road!" Bill called out in response. I smiled and slammed the door shut. I looked back and then swerved out of the tiny parking lot. I drove down the main road and looked for Shrikety Road, I soon saw it on the left side. It was a small, dirt road. I sighed and flipped the radio on, Please Don't Leave Me by P!nk was on.
Please don't leave me
Please don't leave me
I always say how I don't need you
But it's always gonna come right back to this
Please, don't leave me . . .
A small tear slipped down my cheek. My mind flickered to the first time I had changed, when I was five, only minutes before I lost my whole family . . .
FLASHBACK TIME!!!
My small, but powerful voice cried out in pain as the tremors shook my body.
"HONEY! Please be quiet! They are coming!" My mother whispered. I forced a smile on my childish face and nodded. More tremors shook my body and I felt the first bone crack sickeningly. My mother looked at me shock in her eyes. "Oh my god, you're shifting." A tear slipped down her cheek. I exaimined my mother's beautiful face.
My mother had natural, bright, platinum blonde hair and shared my eyes. Her face was slender and beautifully sculpted. The tear that slid down her cheek was oddly bright blue and left a slight water stain on her porcelain cheek.
Another bone cracked leaving me panting on the ground in pain. My mother began to silently sob and put her hands on my face,
"Honey, you'll be fine. Even though the wolves attacking us are bad, they aren't heartless. They won't kill you. . ." My mother said, even though I was only five I could hear the doubt in her musical voice. I smiled as tears fell down my face. "Stay here." My mother stood up and quietly walked out of our little hiding spot. I forced myself to move, so I could watch her.
She looked around and walked towards where my father was. He was in his wolf form, his silver fur glistening in the sun. She whispered something to him, he let out a low frustrated growl. Then six wolves burst through the trees, I watched horrified as one jumped on one of the elder wolves and ripped his leg off. I forced myself not to start sobbing loudly, I watched as the wolves massacred my pack. My mother quickly ran to where I was and dropped to her knees. She held her finger up, Shh. She slowly turned then . . . I lagre paw reached down and through to the side.
"MOMMY!" I schreeched. The large brown wolf paid me no attention. He circled my mother, then pounced, his claws ripping over her beautiful face. "NOOOO!" I cried out. Tears fell down my cheeks. I felt the bones in my body cracking menacingly. I began to curl up into a small ball as the bones cracked. I turned my head to the side and watched as the last wolf of my pack was killed. I sobbed quietly and felt fur burst through my skin.
I now laid on the ground resembling a silver wolf pup. A small whimper slipped out of my muzzle and one of the attacking wolves' head whipped the to side. It let out a low growl and slowly stalked over to where I was. It reached its paw into my small hiding place and pulled me out. I refused to fight, if I was going to die I wanted to go without pain. The wolf picked me up by the fur on my neck and carried me over to the other wolves. It dropped me on the ground bluntly.
I looked up to see the wolves sharing confused looks, then they quickly dissapeared through the trees. I laid on the ground for hours then, another wolf burst through the trees, he couldn't have been older then 10 years old, his fur was dark blonde, his eyes bright blue. He came over to me and carefully shifted me into a standing postition. He looked at me, sorrow in his gorgeous eyes. He pointed his muzzle towards the woods and began to walk. Without any other choice I followed.
That day I lost my family, then gained another . . .
End of Flashback
I stopped the car and turned it off. Tears flowed freely down my cheeks and I let out small sobs. I put my head on the steering wheel and just sat there. I didn't know what to do.
Okay, I gotta know, do you guys think that was tragic? I DO. I feel so sorry and almost starting crying when I wrote about her mother and father. :'( I almost didn't do it.
