Liar

Chapter Two.

They all stayed silent after the car was driven straight into the ditch next to to newly fallen tree. They all breathed heavily and felt as if their stomachs were in their throats.

"Um...yeah, okay, that just happened."Nick breathed out, he looked back at everyone else in the car to make sure no one was hurt.

"We should...get out of the car?"Uni suggested, his chest heaving.

"Yeah..."Cory says in agreement and he opens his door, which opened loudly and almost hit a nearby tree. He steps out and stopped his own legs from wobbling. They all, besides Nick, exit the car and step put onto the road on front of the fallen tree that blocked their path. Off on the other side of the rode, a cave was partially covered in vines with a few bushes in front of it.

Nick attempted to start up to car but to no avail, "The car is totaled, it won't start."

Cory reached for his phone in an attempt at calling help, "Damn, I've got no reception."

"We could try walking back the way we came, but we've been driving for hours without seeing anything."Dawn suggested as he kicks some dirt.

"Or we could walk through that tunnel."Uni says, pointing at the entrance with light inside from lit torches.

"You sure? It's a bit...sketchy."Ashlie said uneasily.

"Why not? We came on this road trip to have fun anyway!"Tommy says with a laugh and he runs over to the tunnel and straight into it.

"Tommy!"His friends called out and followed him. They all looked around in the cave, a wooden path was made and torches were lit along the walls.

"Woah."Nick said, astonished, they all continue to walk.

"Whoever made this must still be here, the torches are all lit, and in this weather they really shouldn't be."Dawn observed. The others nodded in agreement.

"And more forest..."Cory grumbles as he saw the end of the tunnel.

"Let's just keep go- Hey! Look, a person!"Ashlie pointed out in excitement.

"Hello! Can you hel- where are you going!"Nick exclaimed and he motions for everyone to hurry after the cloaked figure. They ran out of the tunnel and onto a path that cut through the thick wood.

"They're gone."Uni says in disappointment as they stopped running at a parting in the path that lead into two.

"Um, okay, this sign says the groundskeeper is to the right and on the left is the-...huh, it's all scratched out."Tommy notices as he pointed to a sign posted on fence.

"Let's check the groundskeeper, hopefully that person we saw was them and we could find some help."Dawn says and they all quickly agreed, going down the right pathway. They hear small cracks of branches around them as they walked in the forest, they all pretended not to hear them so they could stay focused.

They stop as they see a two story house made of old wood, there was a porch and a light was seen through the black tinted windows. When they reach the door of the house and they were mentally figuring out who would knock on the creepy home. A few of them had pushed Uni in the front of their group to knock and enter the house, Uni scowled, but he knocked on the door with a sigh. As his knuckles hit the door, the door creaked open.

"Um, 'ello? Anyone home?"Uni called as he poked his head through the doorway. The cabin had a ladder going up to the second floor and a fireplace that was lit, there was a small furnace/oven placed next to a stool with a barrel of water on top, a creaky rocking chair in the corner, and gardening tools in another corner.

"No one's home?"Nick questioned in uncertainty.

"Guess so, let's explore!"Tommy says as he urged everyone inside the cabin. The wander around the empty cabin and go up to the top level, Dawn opens a chest that had cobwebs and a book inside, around the second floor many bales of hay were kept up in multiple piles, He handed it to Nick so he could read it.

"Okay....Everyone is leaving. The owner of the Asylum told me that if I could not leave with the others, he said that if I left then I would die. I am trapped here forever until I die apparently. They are saying that they are leaving in a attempt so they would not be shut down due to an experiment, a little boy, who escaped to tell the police."
