"Hey? Uni, snap out of it. You okay man?"Cory says and he snaps in Uni's face. Uni's eye widened and he nodded in response.
"You kinda blanked out Uni, you
sure you're okay?"Ashlie asked."Yep, I'm all good, sorry 'bout that."Uni says in reassurance.
Before anyone could say anything else, they all hear the door downstairs fly open and hit the wall, footsteps are heard from below and the door slammed shut. They hear a sound that sounds like a blade being dragged across the ground, giving them all goosebumps. Tommy waved them over to a hole in the floor, a place where a plank of wood should have been, to see a man standing below them. He wore a red cloak over himself and a bloodied axe was seen to have been dragged behind him. They all gulp.
They heard the man release a hoarse cough, dropping his axe lazily onto the ground before he walked over to the bucket on the stool, he grabbed a old, dirty glass, and got water to drink. He tilts the glass to his mouth to drink, but stops mid sip when a small creak was heard above him from the group on the second floor. He growled and begins to sluggishly walk towards the ladder.
The group all quickly hid behind different piles of the hay, Ashlie being the closest to the ladder. They held their breath, not wanting to be caught by the intimidating man, when they hear the mysterious person step up and walk along the second floor. He walked straight towards the pile of hay that hid Dawn. Dawn was sure he would be found as the footsteps got closer.
Ashlie looked around wildly until a loose frying pan from a hook rack fell upon her gaze. She picked it up, tossed it in the air for testing its weight, and caught it again. She quietly tiptoed towards the man, who was only seconds away from spotting Dawn, and whacked him on the back of the head, a pang was heard and everyone left their hiding spots to stare at the unconscious man. Ashlie couldn't help but grin in satisfaction at the frying pan, she placed it back down.
"Let's get the hell out of here!"Cory says and they all left the house in a rush, they made their way back to the main path with the two diverged roads. They went down the one they haven't traveled on yet, the woods around them were eerie and they did their best to ignore the ruffling of bushes nearby.
"Woah."Dawn says in awe, he stepped out from the path with the others close behind. They stood in front of a old bridge, the stone it was made out of was cracked and looked like it would crumble at any time. At the other side though was the most amazing thing to everyone besides Uni. A tall, three story mansion stood there, no lights were on inside and the bricks were mossy, old, and cracked.
'No....'Uni thought. His thoughts were however interrupted by a startled statement from Nick.
"Look! There's a light up there, right at the balcony!"They all look and see the light, it was dim and the light from whatever the source was danced across the walls indoors.
"Ack! Spooky person!"Tommy shouts and jumped back behind his friends, as there was, indeed, a 'spooky person'.
Up on the balcony a cloaked figure stood upon the railing, the light wind blew the bottom of the clock up and it danced in the wind. His arms were extended to his sides, his head was down, and his legs were unspread from where they stood, they looked ready to jump.
