It felt as only seconds passed once Amelia broke her concentration. Neston and James stood up and looked around; to see why Amelia had released them. There was still flames burning, but most of the buliding had collapsed onto the doom, but slid off onto the side. Amelia sat next to Nikki's body, unsure if she was even alive, and Jerry. Afraid to touch her sister's burnt body to find a pulse, Amelia just studyed her chest and mouth.

With a mountain of rumble around them, Neston and James helped each other up over the cooled metal and scanned the area. Obviously, if Amelia's subconscience knew it was safe for them to be exposed, then they should trust her. Neston was first to spot them; he was relieved to see Mirra and Borann run through the half destoryed wall. He threw his arms in the air and waved them towards them.

"HEY!! GUYS!" Both of them looked and ran over, being cautious about and hidden threats. James looked over and began waving at them as well.

Amelia wasn't concerned with anyone besides Nikki. After all this time, Moric was keeping her captive, even when she questioned Ses about it, he lied. Of course, she didn't actually believe he would tell her the truth, because he's one of her enemies. Amelia quickly pushed the thought of Ses and Moric of out her mind, and inched closer to her half-dead sister.

"Nikki," she muttered next to her head. "What happened?"

She turned her head, surprising Amelia that she was still alive. Amelia retracted a little, but she leaned in closer to hear her sister and talk to her more privately. "Oh my God." Amelia muttered, completely amazed that her sister was actually laying by her side, talking to her.

"You know I love you, right?" Nikki muttered, slightly opening her green eyes.

Shaking her head in disbelief, Amelia replied,"Don't talk like that, you're gonna make it. Th-they're coming-"

"Quit being stupid." A hurtful smile formed on Nikki's chared face. "We both know I'm as good as dead."

"Stop-stop saying shit like that!" Amelia hissed at her. "They're here to help-"

"I'm going to die, even if I make it out of here. So, there's no point." Nikki's once sweet voice, but now harsh said. Amelia began to stab her tongue with her sharpest teeth, trying her damnest to hold back tears.

"I-I won't let you. Not when I promised Brandon to bring everyone home."

"Well, that's one promise, that you'll have to break."  Nikki gave a painful chuckle, and blinked; she looked as if breathing was killing her. Nikki stared at Amelia's new eyes, and lifted her skinless hand to her pale face. "I knew you were always different." Amelia closed her eyes, to avoid tears racing down her cheek.

"Let me see them, before I go. Make them glow again; just like the moon."

Feeling it was her duty to uphold her sister's dying wish, she forced her eyes to reopen and to look Nikki in her eyes. Nikki forced another smile with her thin lips, and pushed more words out of her mouth. "Make them glow, like the moon."

Against her will, she made her silver eyes glow one last time, for her older sister. NIkki smiled bigger and muttered, "They were right; you are the Moon Childe."

After those words, Nikki's hand fell limb, her eyes shut, and her chest stopped moving. Amelia closed her own eyes, to prevent anyone seeing the great Moon Childe cry; as if that meant anything. Neston and James were still standing on top of the rumble, when they finally looked back down; only to see Amelia hunched over a charred corpse.

Jerry had recovered his conscience and secretly climbed out of the pile of burnt buliding. But, no one saw him leave. Amelia, devasted by her sister's death, didn't care where he went. She was just sitting over Nikki's body, unsure of what to do. She was too angry to cry and too depressed to worry about revenge. Her once thrist for blood was gone, and she suspected that it wouldn't come back. Amelia knew she couldn't keep abandoning Brandon to seek out revenge; not with Nikki died and her mother still missing. Even if she felt differently, she couldn't leave him again. The police still suspected that she hurt her mother and sister. she knew they didn't have a lead, but they would become nick-picky about every little thing she did.
