Amelia had been walking around the Rakian base for hours, getting lost in the physical world, and in her mind. She kept reliving the incident at the abandon buliding; why couldn't she feel her sister? Why couldn't she just have known that she was there? She had these powers- more like curses now- and she couldn't simply feel her own sister's presence? What kind of person was she, if she can't even keep a promise to her only family member left. Amelia felt terrible; she hated the thought of just telling Brandon that Nikki was burned to death, and she wasted time to save everyone besides her.
This constant negative thinking was making her sick. So, she stopped for a while; however she kept walking with her hands in her jean pockets. Everything that she was wearing was thin and worn out, she still hadn't changed from her clothes. Amelia felt no need to, considering she felt as bad as she looked.
Numurous Rakians past her, but said nothing. Some said that Neston was looking for her, but she didn't care. She wasn't in the mood to talk to him, or anyone. But, destiny has a funny way of annoying her.
As she was walking down a bare hallway, a thin boy ran past her. Long white hair flown with his head, and large mechanical wings, that were wrapped in bandages, were attached to his back. Almost like a reaction, she turned around and met with Jerry's dull red eyes. All she heard from his thin lips was "YOU!"
"Me...?" Amelia said in an emotionless tone, trying to show that she was uninterested in what he had to say. "What about me?"
Jerry narrowed his red eyes, that were slightly glowing with annoyance, "Yes. In case you haven't realized, I want to fight you."
Thinking for an excuse not to fight, Amelia simply replied with, "No."
"No?" Jerry asked, with a slightly shocked tone. Amelia didn't expect him to understand, so she sighed and turned around.
"Yes. I don't want to fight." Amelia turned away completely and began to walk away; hoping to leave Jerry in the bare hallway. She was half way down when he called after her; obviously not satisfied with the answer she had given.
"And why the hell not?" He screamed after her. She muttered an answer, but he didn't hear it. Jerry ran to her, and used what little strength in his skinny arms to get a good grip on her arm. She refused to look at him; for fear of actually punching him in his girlish face. Again, he wasn't happy with her answer, so he shouted at her. "Well, you gonna answer me?"
With red rimmed, silver eyes, Amelia glared at him; she saw that Jerry was surprised to see The Moon Childe had been crying. Swallowing hard, Amelia put up the courage to say, "Excuse me Jerry, but i have to go plan a funeral for my sister." She jerked her arm out of his hold, and began to walk away again.
By just that slight remark, Jerry became a wild animal. He barked back at her, "A funeral, huh?"
He bared his teeth, Amelia thought to hersel - why am I even giving him the time?-and sighed quietly. He buried his short jagged nails into her arm once again, but this time managing to draw blood. She gave no reaction, which seem to piss Jerry off even more. "A funeral for your dead sister, huh? Burned to death." Jerry finally had her attention, just by mentioning her sister. That was unforgivable, and when she in a sane state of mind, she would be sure to repay Jerry for throwing salt into a fresh wound. "At least you have a body to bury!" He finally growled out. He released her and ran down the hall.
She looked to see who he was running from, just as a female Rakian with bluebird features ran past. Amelia paid no attention to her, instead looked at the siamese male cat that had stopped by her side. By the white lab coat, and smell of cleaning alcohol, Amelia wuickly put together that he was the head of medical personnel.
