Amelia was handed a small, diabetes-looking test machine, and was ordered to return home. Neston didn't allow her to walk out of the base without a blind fold, for her our sake. So, he walked her out and down what felt like a sidewalk on her bare feet. He instructed her to wait a minute before taking the blind fold off and walking home. And, she did, however, she had no idea where she was, so returning home would be difficult. After wandering around the streets, she eventually found out where she was and began slowly making her way home.

Two hours passed before she was able to enter her new nieghborhood. It was mid-day when she arrived, with her blackened feet and toren up tank top and sweat pants. She noticed that when she walked through the pedestrian gate, that news vans were parked by the unopened community pool. Three different stations were there; but flashing lights caught her eye, it came from the direction of her house. Amelia jogged toward the small mob of people who were staring at the news anchormen and women and orange tape with the words, "DO NOT CROSS" printed on it. The people were whispering as the anchormen and women spoke about a break-in and two missing, adult females. Amelia pushed her way to the front of the mob to get a better view.

Drag markings in blood were stained on the sidewalk that was in between the two sets of houses. Rocks were kicked out of place, bushes ripped up, and her front door to her house was opened. Fearing the worse, Amelia scanned the horizon for any sign of her family; on the street farther again from her, she saw an ambulance, with her little brother sitting on the edge of the ambulance. Amelia ran around the set of houses to reach the opposite road with her brother. Policemen blocked off the enterence to the sidewalk on this side and kept pedestrians away from the ambulance. Amelia stopped next to a black skinned police officer and called her brother's name.

"Ma'am, you're going to have to stop shouting, this is an ongoing investigation site. You'll have to wait for the detectives to finish examining the scene." He held his hand out to kept Amelia out of the way, but she pushed it aside and ran passed him. He tried to grab her, but she ran to her brother, Brandon, who was surely pleased to see her. She gave him a hug and he wrapped his arms around her waist. Once the police officer understood who she was, he left her and her brother alone.

"What happened?" Amelia whispered to him. He was shaking with shock.

"I-I was at Jason's house," he started to tell her, with watery eyes," Mom said that since you were gone that she was pissed, and us to leave her alone. So, Nikki drove me to his house and she came back home, hopefully going to calm down Mom. But, I didn't get a call or text from neither of them, and they had to pick up his father from the airport, so they took me home."

"Did you see what happened? Is that's why you're so scared?"

"No, this was here when I got back, and the house was a wreck. I didn't know what to do, I didn't know where Mom or Nikki was," he began sobbing in Amelia's arms and squeezed her. She had forgot about Brandon's hemophobia; the fear of blood.

Two detectives saw Amelia hugging her brother and approached them. They pulled out their badges and showed it to her; allowing Brandon to continue crying into his sister.

"Hello, I'm Detective Remus, and this is my parther, Detective Gull."

"We're sorry for your loss," said the small and skinny Detective Gull, who made himself look bigger with a thick coat and  bold rim glasses.

"They aren't dead, just missing." She corrected him fiercely.

Detective Remus, with his small eyes and muscular head turned to his friend and gave him a look, but Amelia was studying her brother instead of the detectives. "Of course," Detective Remus said, putting his badge away along with Detective Gull. "Do you have any idea who would do this to your mother and sister?"
