Chapter 3: Flower Lilies and Games

Speed. I am speed. Now, overtake! I pushed the turbo button to overtake the car who was infront of me but it blocked me before I could even do it and crashed just on the right corner of the street.

"Sis. You suck at this."

"How am I suppose to learn if you keep discouraging me?"

"You're already in last place and we aren't even on the moderate level."

"Well, a beginner will have her day someday."

"I'm done." He laid on the floor after finishing first place of the video game, Overtake. I was still on my second out of third lap.

"So slow. You're so boring to play with, sis."

"Shut up."

I was carefully making my turns so I won't crash on the sides. Isn't that what driving is all about? Safety? If this was a real game in real life, I would have been first. Other players might have died even before reaching the finish line.

"Mi-sa-ka!!!"

And then there's this dude. He hasn't been missing out for everyday of my whole summer so far.

"Ken-kun~" he hugged my brother familiarly as my brother struggles to remove his hands from him.

"Who is this old fart!? Let go of me!"

Ha. Old fart. Nice one, brother.

"Ah, right. You were still a baby when I was around here. But you're still so cuuteeee~" he continued harrassing my brother's personal space.

"Ahhhhh! Is that Overtake 3? I heard they had new cars and places in that version."

"You play Overtake??" Fascinated idiotic brother says.

"I was kind of a game addict with Overtake 1 and 2. Especially that bonus round for the Overtake special."

"You've played the special!? I heard only players with 98-100% accurate turns and speed in Overtake 2 can play the special!"

"Yeah. It was really hard to master the turns since there are unknown shortcuts."

"There are unknown shortcuts!? I didn't know about that! I thought they only exist in the first version?"

"They do exist! It's just that you need to pay attention to the roads and road signs. Shortcuts are camouflaged in 2 and 3 which are unlike the ones in 1 that were visible, so it's hard for other players to see it."

"Wow. Teach me, wise one."

"I would humbly do so."

Look at these idiots. I don't know if they're kidding or just plain stupid for acting like a monkey worshipping a gorilla. I pushed the turbo button as I was nearing the finish line for the final lap. Finally.

"So slow. I don't want to play with sis. I wanna play with brother Tanaka." He said as he held the tip of Tanaka-san's shirt.

"Whoever said he was your brother?"

"We are brothers by Overtake. Aren't we Ken-kun?"

I want to play, too. Even if I was last place I really enjoyed playing.

"Suit yourselves." I said without showing any signs of hesitation.

"Wait. Ken-kun, how about me and your sister team up? I haven't played overtake for a long time now and your sister is always in last place. Is it okay?"

"Eh? I guess so. But just so you know, no matter how you team up, I will always be the winner."

He was easily swayed by Tanaka's words, huh. Yet he can't even be swayed by my mom's sweet talk to make him run errands. Tanaka looked at me with a smile on his face. What a pathetic face yet I can't help but smile back at him.
