The wind rustles the trees in the night sky, leaves and stray newspapers tumble on the ground, the sounds of sirens fill the calm night air.

She has struck again.

The police fill up the area, surrounding the building where the one and only Crimson Rose stands within, holding her hostages.

"Let the hostages go!" Lestrade, the inspector from Scotland Yard, exclaims into the cold night sky. Multiple police cars surround the building, blocking all possible escapes.

Then they hear it, a gunshot.

"GO IN NOW!" Lestrade commands as the police force breaks down the doors. Lestrade and detective Sergeant Donovan, second in command under Lestrade, burst into the building behind the armed military force. Only to be met with the hostages tied up, unharmed, and placed in a circle. And in the middle of said circle, lays a single black rose on the ground with an envelope tucked underneath.

"When the day meets the night and when all of you are affright

The moment in time you will never expect, where the crime will take its full effect

Time, itself, will halt and the one who does the crime is never at fault

the only thing that stands in its way is just what you fear

Why, that's me, my dear"

- C.R

The message was imprinted onto the letter, in smooth cursive writing. Lestrade yells in vain and throws the letter into the evidence bag, along with the malicious noir rose.

"We will catch her next time," Donovan speaks as she pats his back, attempting to soothe her partner.

"We need backup, we need help... We need Sherlock" Lestrade commands as he exits the building and heads to the one place he dreads most.
