Liam's POV

I was waiting for Tori to come back, I waited patiently for her. I almost thought that she wasn't coming back, until the door clicked and opened and the beautiful red haired girl walk in, my heart fluttering instantly in my chest, she smiled over at me and I smiled back, sitting up in my bed.

"Hey Liam, how are you doing today?" She asks me. I respond with my usual "fine" and ask her about her day, I want to know everything about her day, why she was doing and what she plans to do after she leaves. She is the most interesting part of my day. I nod along to everything she says.

"So Liam, how would you think about taking lunch out of your cell, like going to the lunchroom with all the other patients?" She gently asks. I tense up a bit. I normally don't go outside, to interact with the other patients. I don't think I would fit in with them. I've always been an anti-social most of my life. But I can't say no to Tori, so I just nod once.

"I could try that..." I trail off.

She nods, standing up and reaching an outstretched hand out at me, I take it and she holds it while leading me out to the hall. I haven't been in this hall since my parents first brought me here. I never left my room.

For anything.

I walk down the hall with Tori, looking at all the other patients, seeing their crazy faces, them looking at me like I'm some hygienic freak. I keep myself clean. The others don't. Tori lead me into the cafeteria, lunch room, whatever you call it. She urges me to go on and make friends. She lets go of my hand, but I quickly reach for it again, not wanting her to leave me alone with these freaks. I lead her over to an empty table and force her to sit down with me.

"What's the matter?" Tori asks me worryingly, thinking she's done something wrong. That's the last thing I want her to think.

"Nothing, I'm just not that social... That's all..." I say with a forced smile, looking at her green eyes that resemble emeralds. She looks at me for a moment before reaching in her purse and pulling out a book. I haven't seen a book since I was in the 8th grade...

"It's called Harry Potter." Tori explains to me, she tells me a summary of the story and slides the book over to me. I look at it for a moment before opening it and reading the first page.

I'm hooked.

Before I know it I'm halfway done with the book. I had forgotten how much I loved to read.

Tori looks over at me. I'd forgotten she's been sitting there the whole time.

"Ready to head back?" She asks gently.

I nod, getting and walking back to my room with her. I grab onto the book with my life. Tori enters my room before I do, looking around and making sure everything's in order. She then drops me off and leave me be. Once she's gone, I wish she would come back. She told me she would bring the second book with her tomorrow, so I can read it.

I finished the first book that night.
