The Sidemen Baby

Chapter 2

Simon's POV:

After hours of arguing and sending JJ out to buy a baby car seat so we could take her to the store, we decided on a name. 

Veronica Rose Bradley. 

Everyone agreed that she should take Josh's last name for two reasons. 1. it sounded like the best fit. 2. He's Daddy AF.

When JJ came back with the seat, we all piled into our 12 person van and drove to the mall. It was pretty busy, and keeping Veronica asleep was extremely hard. Everyone kept getting split up and lost, and it took us at least an hour to all get to the right store. 

We went into Babies 'R' us and searched around, everyone putting anything they thought was cute into the cart. We had already payed with the group debit card (that shopping spree costed us about £6000 dollars) (JJ decided she had to have name brand baby jewelry) (thanks a fucking lot JJ) we all got back in the van and were home before realizing.

We forgot to buy diapers and a crib. 

So back out we went, Sending Josh off the grocery store for diapers and formula, and Harry and I with Veronica to Ikea for things for her new room.

Usually when we go out we wear sunglasses and hats so people wouldn't recognize us and make a scene, but we'd forgotten them in the van when we'd gone inside. That was our first mistake. We got swarmed and couldn't leave for hours. Our second mistake was bringing Veronica with us. They kept waking her up and  they wouldn't listen to us until we got kicked out. We had to wait until everyone left before sneaking back inside and buying an adorable brown and white crib. 

We managed to get it home before Josh called us. We had forgotten him at the store....

After a quick Nandos dinner, JJ wanted to try and put together the crib in the guest room. 

The guest room had ugly grey walls and a stained and tattered shag carpet, with zero windows and an ugly twin bed in it. It would be a horrible place to keep Ver, so we decided to put it in the living room for now. 

JJ had no fucking clue how to use a screw driver, Harry had a history of breaking furniture, Vik was filming and Tobi was on a Skype with his girl. With everyone else busy or useless, Josh and Ethan and I started putting it together in the middle of the room. Ethan kept having to leave at random times to check on "Cupcake" (His nickname for Veronica that he came up with literally right after we had confirmed her name.), so it was basically just Josh and I working on it the whole time. 

Apparently building cribs is really fucking hard.

It took us 3 hours to get it built and ready, and about half of that was accompanied by strings of swears that would make a sailor blush. I can honestly say though, when we finally got her into a clean diaper with a full belly and in her new pajamas asleep in that crib, the stressful day was all worth it. 

Ethan had bought her a fuzzy purple teddy bear and he had her tucked in with it, the matching purple baby blanket draped over them both. He watched her with loving eyes and a look of a proud father, watching his little cupcake relax safely for the first time in probably her whole life.
