Two months later
JJ's POV:
It was entertaining watching Vikk dance around, decorating whatever he could reach. It was adorable. His little arms couldn't get the high places like Simon could, but he couldn't stand anything being undecorated so he was pretty much in my arms all day.He was one of those weird people who didn't care for birthdays or valentine's day and he barely remembered chirstmas, but he was a Halloween nut. Everything and everyone had to be Halloween themed, and he even went as far as to buy Tobi and Ana matching Halloween outfits.
She'd finally moved in after a month of debate, and she was settling in well. It didn't take long for her to get her visa, either.
Anyways. Vikk was going crazy with decorations, and they weren't those super fucking awesome scary ones that I loved. Nope. None of those.
They were the cartoon ghosts and bats and spiders and stuffed skeletons that you'd expect to see in like a preschool. I half expected him to make an alphabet themed ghost and stick him up above a chalkboard and start teaching us how to spell the word "BOO". It was just one of those things that made Vik, well, Vik, and it made him a better dad in general.
In fact, he was actually a great teacher. Veronica already knew most of her ABC'S and when Harry had gone back to school to finish, he'd started tutoring him.
He was standing on his toes trying to put a minecraft Zombie plush on the fridge, insisting that it would scare Calfreezy when he came over.
"JJ!! Just help me put it up and then I'll not make you do anything else!!" He squeaked and started jumping, trying to get it up himself again.
He looked so cute and helpless. It made my heart melt from the overwhelming adorableness of my boyfriend.
I only realized I'd zoned out while watching him when I heard a chair scraping across the floor. He'd grabbed one of the tall barstools, ya'know, The ones he can barely get up on, and he was pushing it while trying to hold all of the decorations he'd chosen to put up around the kitchen.
It was sad and cute and it made me want to Awww and kiss him and snuggle him and a tiny part of me wanted to pin him against the fridge and ANYWAYS I knew that this was a recipe for disaster so I finally caved and picked him up, letting him put his silly toys up.
I think I scared him when I did that because he almost dropped his bunch of nick-nacks, barely catching them and dropping a bunch of paper zombies on strings like those weird paper dolls that people would make in arts and crafts class.
"Little star. Did you make all of this?" I asked as I helped him get his stuff together.
"W-well most of it yes." He blushed hard and set up a Halloween themed display along the fridge top and cupboards. "I had some free time yesterday so I thought I'd make more decorations. Do you like them?" His face lit up and he turned to look at me. His expression mimicked one of a hopeful child's, like saying the wrong thing could crush him.
"Of course I do!!" I chirped and kissed his nose. It may have not been the full truth, but it was cute how much effort he'd put into all of this. It made me appreciate them more.
Ver crawled in holding a toy Minecraft zombie and making the zombie noises l had taught her.
"Baaaaaaaains!"
Vik stared at her for a while before turning back to me. "You turned our innocent baby Angel into a flesh eating sentient corpse?"
"Not my decorations."
"Your zombie impersonation."
"She's MY baby. She'll overhear what I say."
"She's our baby. Filter yourself." He scolded before picking her up and dancing the toy around for her.
She giggled and gave me a look of no regret before proceeding to try and eat Vik's arms and hands.
"I didn't teach her that, Star."
"Who did?!" He yelped as she bit down on his finger.
She looked up at him with a devilish grin. "Ombeeeeees!!"
I heard a hushed whisper and pushed open the door, revealing Tobi and Simon giggling like schoolchildren.
Veronica pointed them out happily. "Ombeeees!"
