Chapter Fourteen:
"A flashback?" I repeated, questioning his statement.
"Yeah, like lover boy over here said, you're going to encounter those," Eve said, stepping forwards.
"So.. how do I kill Gavin?' I questioned.
-
That night we were sitting at the dining table discussing different topics like how pathetic humans were (I felt excited to talk about this because as it turns out I was not human).
Cade had promised to start helping me channel my powers and control them.
When they had ran tests on me they couldn't find any results besides the fact I was very powerful.
That excited me.
I had always dreamed of being something else than a normal human but I had never expected to get abducted by a vampire on my birthday while I was intoxicated. That didn't help me sort through things.
There was still tension in the room between me and Jerald after the "flashback" that occured earlier today, It made me even more curious to discover what was hidden behind the brick wall in my mind that was slowly crumbling.
Cade had told me that by this coming Friday I would be able to eliminate Gavin, Apparently it had to be quick and precise due to the factor this would be completely unexpected.
I thought back to when he tortured me and ideas sprung into my mind.
"Hello? Ground control to Major Charlotte," Carrie said, waving a hand over the table.
I noticed that her lips were stained red from the goblet she held in one hand, blood lingering on the crease of her mouth where her two lips met when she opened them to speak.
"I'm sorry I just zone out sometimes," I sated plainly.
"It's alright, you're not having another flashback, now, are you?" Eve asked, concern in her eyes.
"Trust me, I'm fine," I said, reassuring their worried faces.
Jerald couldn't even look me in the eyes and resided to staring at my plate in front of me.
After dinner was finished I assisted the girls in helping them put the dinnerware in the kitchen. I guess they gave the servants a break at this time since they seemed to enjoy the small time to bond.
"So, Charlotte," Josephine started, slowly bringing me into the conversation, "how are you feeling about Cade?"
"Well..." I started.
"Josephine, don't ask her things like that!" Claudia scolded.
"It's alright, I don't mind it," I replied.
"Do you think you'll fall in love with him?" Carrie pressed.
I could feel color spreading in my cheeks, illuminating my embarressment.
"Carrie, we all know the answer. They're head over heels for each other," Josephine stated.
Before I could even begin to think of a reply someone pushed through the kitchen door and into the large area.
"Arthur!" Eve shouted, racing into the strange man's arms.
He was tall and lanky, blonde straight hair that reached just above his brow.
