Chapter 6:

It had been a couple days. Nothing had really happened. I had been given an Ipod. But it had been boring over the past three days. That's when a butler walked in and set my breakfast tray down and walked out of the room. I ran to the door from the bed and saw that it was still locked.

"I thought I..." Never mind. I walked back to my bed and looked at the tray. I saw a plate of "Human" fruits as Cade had referred too, a glass of ice water, and.. a note.

I jumped off the bed and glided over to the small envelope. I saw a red stickerish crest and I only ripped the letter open considering it was on the seal. I took out the folded piece of paper and carefully unfolded it. In delicate calligraphy Cade had written,

"Charlotte, I think you should get to know me better, considering the fact we haven't been speaking to each other much lately, I think we should venture out tonight to the garden maze. Meet me downstairs in the kitchen at Midnight precisely. Dress accordingly, preferably in dress clothes.

It was then signed with a simple "Cade." I smiled but instantly mentally slapped myself. I couldn't fall in love with this pedophile...

I turned on Ke$ha's "Blah Blah Blah" and ventured into my closet. I looked around and settled on a pair of night blue heels and a gorgeous blue dress. I carried them to the bathroom and hung them on a hook as I searched around the cabinet for a curling iron.

I curled my hair into perfect ringlets since I was feeling to lazy and I had already showered and blowdried my hair. I picked out dark blue and grey mac eyeshadow and black mascara along with some blue liquid eyeliner and set them on the counter.

I applied all of the makeup and changed into a tank top and sweatpants, considering that they'd be a lot easier to change out of. I grabbed a pair of black converse, put them on my feet and laced them up, and took my room key, and ventured down the hall.

I made it to the staircase and I walked down quickly only to run into Cade. "Where are we Cade? Are we still in New York? Or are we in some weird dimensionish thingy?" I asked him, putting my hand on my hip.

He had his hands in his pockets and he furrowed his brow as he thought. He clicked his tongue and then looked up at me biting his lower lip. "Well, Charlotte..." he started off,"technically yes, but well... yes. We are in New York still."

I sighed and went to move past him but he pushed me against the wall suddenly with unknown strength. His firey gold eyes gazed into mine. "I know you want me Tessa." I laughed a little too loudly at that.

"I'm serious." He stared even deeper into my eyes, if that was even possible. For a couple of seconds I fell into his trance but then I quickly busted my way out of his hold.

I glared at him as I quickly skipped up the small steps back to my room.

By the time I got to my room I was distracted by my hunger after I had eaten all of the fruit in the bowl, I carried it down to the kitchen and back upstairs, I decided to go roam the halls, not finding anything interesting on this floor, except many, many locked doors.

I quickly put my dress on. It was beautiful, it was a deep shade of blue that complimented my hair (*the picture is over there >*) My eyes were brought out by the beautiful makeup after I had applied it and I chose my favourite kind of shoes besides converse.

Black heels. Just nothing else appeals to me. I can't stand it. By the time it was 11:45pm, I wondered if he really was going to show up. I decided to jam out to the Ke$ha song for a another couple seconds but then I made my way down the stairs.

I walked out the glass double doors and out onto the cement squares that started the maze. I headed down the shrubbery walkway until I remembered I had to wait in the kitchen. I muttered a curse word then jogged back to the house and into the kitchen.

"I'm so freaking stupid!" I said. I heard a laugh behind me and I turned around and saw him wearing a black tux. I was awestruck. He did his famous half smile at me and his hair was still little curls.

His golden eyes shown bright because the moonlight shined through into the dark kitchen.. or maybe is was just because he was a vampire... I found myself smiling and he intertwined his arm with mine but I tried to yank away.

Of course I couldn't get out of his supernatural grip so I sucked it up and walked out into the courtyard with him again. We walked in silence down the path I had just been near seconds ago, although there were lights strung from each shrub.

And there were fireflies all around. Even the moon and the stars had improved their appearance. After a couple more silent minutes we came across a fountain. I quickly ran ahead of him surprised that he actually let me go and I sat down on the ledge.

He chuckled at my eagerness and sat down next to me.

"Look Charlotte, I know you don't understand-" "Exactly Cade, I don't understand. And half the time I don't have a damn clue what's going on. It's mental! You blood suckers! I used to read about you guys in my Halloween books. But I need to ask you something."

"I don't know where Rosa is." "How did you.." "I can read minds.." He glanced at the stone ground with a slight smirk on his face. "That's a lie," I said to him,"You know where she is. You just won't tell me."

"It's so that you stay safe Tessa Charlotte. You need to understand the consequences for actions like those."

"I do. I'm out of school. I don't live with my parents anymore, and for once, I wish I was home. I really wish that I had never met you. I hate you." I felt my eyes start to sting and I immediately thanked God I was wearing waterproof makeup.

He pulled me close to him and put hi arms around me and layed his face in my hair. "It's going to be okay. You'll understand soon." "How soon?" I asked eagerly. I couldn't help it. I had natural curiosity.

"Soon." He said and chuckled a bit. I laughed and I looked up into his eyes. He leaned down towards my face and stroked my cheek. I leaned up to meet his and..
