The Visit; A Newtina Fanfic

The Talk

It had been two days since the battle, and Tina was watching as Mr. Scamander helped tend to the injuries of Caoimhe. Several ugly bruises covered the girl's body. Her ear had been patched well, but a scar still remained from where the spell had hit her. Her neck was lined with hand-shaped bruises from when Grindewald had attempted to strangle her. Caoimhe avoided talking because it hurt her neck to speak. So Caoimhe just sat and smiled at Tina, her eyes shining softly. The young girl gestured to the door of Newt's bedroom. Understanding her message, Tina opened the door and walked inside.

Newt lay on his bed, pale from loss of blood. He was wearing a clean white shirt, and the room smelled faintly of medicine. Tina lay herself down beside him, gently resting her head on his shoulder. Newt's arm went around her, pulling her closer. His scent was tainted a little by the smell of medicine, but the scent was still there, so she inhaled it. "Did you get hurt?" Newt asked, his velvet voice slightly hoarse. "Newt, you were tortured by Grindewald, and you are worried about me?" Tina asked. This man was so selfless it was unbelievable! Newt chuckled softly. "I asked you not to come back for me," he said. "I asked you not to leave me. I'd say we're about even," Tina teased. Newt grinned weakly, but his face went serious.

"Tina, I need you to find someone better," he said. "Newt, there is no need to talk about this. I am never moving on, whether you like it or not," Tina's voice was firm. Newt sighed. "Alright, let's make a deal." Tina looked at him. "I will court you for as long as you desire, but if you ever meet a man who loves you and you love him, and he offers more than I ever could, you will get rid of me and court him." "Deal," Tina said, though she was certain that she would never meet such a man. Newt rested his head on top of hers and fell asleep, Tina following soon afterwards.
