All too soon, summer was gone and Tina had to go back to MACUSA. She walked with the Scamander family, Alice, Queenie, and Jacob to the docks. Queenie an Jacob boarded the ship, but Tina turned to the family to say goodbye.
Tina turned to Caoimhe first. "I hope you realize what an amazing person you are, Caoimhe. You are the bravest and most loving person I've ever met. Don't ever let that fade, okay?" Caoimhe hugged Tina, not saying a word because it still hurt to talk. She pressed a slip of paper into Tina's hand before backing up, smiling warmly at her. Tina opened the note. Three words stared up at her.
"Write to me."
"I will," Tina said with a smile. Tina turned to Theseus, who shook her hand. "It was a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Tina," he boomed. Alice hugged her. "Take care now, alright?" Alice said. Tina nodded. Mrs. Scamander embraced Tina gently. "You were the closest thing I had to a mother," Tina whispered. "I'll keep in touch, love," Mrs. Scamander replied before letting her go with a wink. She embraced Mr. Scamander before turning to Newt. "Can I talk with him, alone for a second?" The rest of the family nodded, walking off to leave Tina and Newt alone. Tina embraced Newt. "Remember the deal, alright? I'll be back in New York in about a month's time," Newt said softly. "Promise?" Tina asked. "Promise," Newt replied, pulling back to kiss her one last time. "Oh, I almost forgot," Tina said when they broke apart. Newt stared at her. "Stay out of trouble," she teased. Newt laughed.
Tina turned to leave. She risked one last glance at him. He watched her until she disappeared, then turned back to his family. Theseus punched Newt playfully, and Newt blushed before the family walked off to their house again.
Tina would prove her love to Newt. She had to. But until then, she had a lot of paperwork to do back home!
