Chapter 2:

Blain's POV:

The last thing I could remember was getting into an argument with Zane and then him cussing her out, accusing her of what I said. I guess then I told him to let go, but he said no. The thing was, I wanted him to let me go. I was ready to let go, but then I remembered I was on a mission for the impossible. I fell in love with the impossible. Stephen. Stephen's face came to mind, he was the new tack holding me up on the wall. So, I needed to fight, and now, I'm fighting for my life, I'm fighting for a second chance. I broke my promise to Adrian. I said I'd never do drugs and guess what? I did drugs. It wasn't the pressure, it was the thought of what was on the other side. A new beginning? Something new to fight for? Stephen has always been the obstacle though. I bumped into him the same day and he didn't tell me to shove off. He just told me in a nice way that I should watch where I was going.

So now, I'm standing at the end of my bed, staring at my body and wondering what the hell is going on and why am I standing at the edge rod my bed? Obviously I'm not dead, my body is still fighting, but why am

I not inside my body fighting? Was the nightmare too strong?

Yes, nightmares. They're frequent for me. I have them all the time. Adrian is always in a too deep sleep to notice and Zane is oblivious to a lot

of things. Every night I dream of what it was like every night before Zane could even begin to see the world in a new vision. I was nine when I first started. Zane would do stupid things and hurt people, draw their blood. Since he was a child, he didn't understand that he shouldn't be around the blood, that I'd die if he ever had a taste. Every time he drew the blood of another person, he'd come to see me. He'd tell me I didn't have much longer. He'd say things and do things. I was just a child, but he'd torture me, try to get me to succumb to his wishes. He told me that he was going to be the one to take me away when Zane's blood awakened. I was scared and even then I knew what he meant. I did everything I could to keep Zane away from blood. My blood had no effect on him. He told me it was because it was full of sickness. It was full of death and disease. When I turned 14, that's when he got worse. He did things worse than what he did ok the previous years. He started touching me, not in a 'friendly' way as he called the times he'd pat my back and ruffle my hair. He touched me in places that no one was allowed to touch. He said I was too young for anything more and then, when I turned 16, he went further. The only way I could get rid of him was by being with Adrian. He only came at night while I was alone. So, I started having sleep overs in hopes of keeping him away. It worked until he realized there would be no way Adrian would wake up in the middle of the night if I was quiet.

"I wish he didn't have to go through this." I look up to see Zane and Raven entering my room. I go over to him and realize I'm floating. I'm a friggin' ghost.

"Zane!" I shout, but he walks right through me.

"He'll wake up, he's got to." Zane whispers as Raven pulls him into a hug. I watch as Raven kisses the too of my brother's head and they stay there like that. Zane's got tears in his eyes and Raven's eyes are sad as they look at my unconscious body. Please, let me wake up. Someone let me wake up. Please! I turn and leave the room, assuming I could do so. I was so glad when I was able to and I hurry shouting at people, trying to see if anyone could see me. I ended up on a sidewalk by Adrian's house after entering everyone's house. Adrian exited his house, hands shoved into his pockets. He took a deep breath and cut off through his lawn. He was heading somewhere, that I could tell. He had a determined look on his face and I had the urge to follow him, but a certain brother of his came out of the house. Instinctively, I hid and watched as Stephen looked around before hurrying off to the woods. I thanked my invisibility at that moment and hurried after him, curiosity flooding my mind. I watch as he stops at a tree and looks at the sky and makes a whistling noise. A wolf comes into the clearing, huge and dangerous looking. I watch in shock as it turns into a human. I squint and realize in shock that it's Darris, one of my teachers.
