Chapter 13:

Adrian's POV:

I hung out with Blain and his brother yesterday. Zane's boyfriend tagged along too. I got to meet Seraphinus and Salem. Seraph has a thing for Blain so I was keeping a close eye on him. He better stay away from my best friend. He has a boyfriend, aka my brother. So he better keep his thing away from my best friends ass.

"Adrian! Hurry up or you'll be late for the bus!" My mom yells from the bottom of the stairs. I groan and head down the stairs, dragging my backpack with me.

"Why are you up so early?" I ask my mom. She grins and squeezes my cheek.

"To get little lazy sons like you up." She replies. I sigh and take the French toast stick from her and shove it in my mouth as I head out the door. Stephen shoves passed me when he spots Blain looking out the window. I slowly trail behind. I sit away from Stephen and my brother when I get on the bus. Lately Blain seems to be distant and more for my brother. I don't want to get in the way of their relationship.

"Hey Adrian!" I turn and look at the seat behind me to see Itzel. I stare at her for a moment.

"Itzel?" I exclaim. She grins and waves.

"Hey! My daddy thought I should actually start attending school. I hardly ever do. They thought I was on vacation so they let me off the hook. Now I have to go cause of daddy." She sighs and then grins happily at me. "Why aren't you sitting with them?" She asks, pointing to Stephen and Blain. I shrug.

"They're a couple now, so I'd feel like the third wheel." I say. Itzel flicks my forehead.

"Don't think that way. Daddy always tells me to butt in the kiss and scold them for making me a third wheel, not that I am ever the third wheel." She smiles at me, looking like a kitten.

"Okay," I say, cracking a grin.

"Daddy told me say tell you that he says hi." I raise an eyebrow.

"Great Lord Satan wanting to say hi to me? That's not something I would expect on a normal Friday morning." I say, smiling. I can just picture his glare.

"Well, my daddy has taken a liking to you. He says you're a good friend for me." Itzel purrs. Suddenly Chaz appears beside her and gives her a kiss before disappearing. Itzel looks at me with a cute little blush.

"He's been doing that a lot this morning." She says, her fingers on her lips. She smiles and I look away, feeling it's a smile that only Chaz should be seeing.

Once we get to the school I head to English. Itzel's first class is World History. The class is really belong and I try not to sleep through it.

Later I see Mr. Avery talking to Mr. Collider. He looks embarrassed as he says something to him. I eye them curiously, wondering if they're developing into a relationship.

At lunch I leave the school. Blain was too busy hanging with his brother and my brother to notice I wasn't there. At first I plan to head to Xenith's restaurant, but then I change my mind. Instead I go to a convenience store for a little snack. I grab a bag of sun chips and a sprite. I go up to the register and reach for my wallet, but then I feel those chains.

"Adrian," Lucifer. I turn to look at him as he comes over. He casts me a smirk before placing a twenty on the counter. The register takes it and moves to give the change, but Lucifer doesn't take it. He grabs my arm and pulls me along out of the store. I glare at him as he drags me to a deserted building.

"Is this your house?" He ignores me and leads me inside. The inside is completely different from the outside. Holy shit. I look around, wondering if I'm actually in a deserted building. Lucifer pulls on my arm so I am facing him.
