Chapter 12:

Blain's POV:

My brother told me today that Seraph has taken a liking to me. I'm not sure if it's a good like or a bad like. Like the bad like would be that he liked me too much and the good like would be that he likes me as a friend. So now I'm sitting next to Adrian who's staring at the floor pondering what to do and what's right or wrong. Adrian seems to be pondering something too. I haven't told him about Xyern yet.

"So you and Stephen had sex." He remarks. I nod.

"More than once." I state. He looks at me in surprise.

"How was it?" I smile.

"Amazing. I'm not longer complaining either. We're having some luck on our relationship. Except there is this guy I'm worried might like me. I'm not positive if he does or not, but you know." Adrian nods.

"Who is he?" He asks. I bite my bottom lip.

"His name is Seraph." I respond. Adrian makes an 'o' shape with his mouth.

"Didn't you like have those fairy dudes research him?" I nod. I did. He's not that bad. Yeah he's killed people, he's high ranked, he's nice. He's a virgin. Okay awkward.

"Yes, Nameo and his son Regret." Adrian looks at me weirdly.

"You shitting me? Who names their son Regret?" Nameo apparently.

"Fairies?" Adrian bursts out laughing and then sighs.

"Blain, I've missed the good old days." I grin and ruffle his hair.

"Me too," we give each other a bro hug.

"You seem a lot more happier now." Adrian says, standing up. He stretches out his arms and stands up.

"I am a lot more happier now. What about you?" Adrian avoids looking at me and smiles.

"I'm happy if you're happy." He then grins. "Want to go see that place where people stick their junk into the ground?" I feel like Adrian has become more distant. It makes me feel sad, but I am sure Adrian will talk to me when he's ready. We're best friends. He's gonna have to tell me sometime.

"Sure!" I smile, standing up. We head out the door as Adrian cracks jokes about the spot. We meet Zane and Raven, who are holding hands on our way there. Zane says Seraph is with them along with Salem, but they had to go make a call. We decide to wait for them.

"So, I'll get to meet the guy." Adrian says, shoving his hands into his pockets. I smile and nod. I think about Stephen and feel sort of guilty that I'll be hanging out with Seraph. I know I made remarks in my sad about him when I first saw him.

"Hello Blain," he looks at Adrian. "And..." He trails off.

"Adrian, Adrian Carter." Seraph nods in greeting to Adrian.

"I am Seraphinus." He introduces himself.

"Nice to meet ya, Seraph. What's up?" Adrian grins. Seraph looks a bit surprised by Adrian but he quickly composes himself.

"Nothing, what of you?" Seraph kind of speaks weirdly and he's a bit socially awkward. He's really nice though, which is good. Nameo and Regret said he shouldn't be of any threat. Speaking of Regret, I wonder why his relationship with thy servant is. What was his name...? I think I heard Nameo call him Relic or something. It's obvious Regret is in a relationship type thing with him. I'm just curious. I don't want the poor little guy to get hurt. He seems fragile.

"I'm Salem." Seraph's brother shoves out his hand and slaps Adrian on the back. "Chin up dude, the world is still spinning." Adrian gives him a weird look. Salem simply ignores it and goes over to his brother. "Did you ask what flavor of ice cream Blain wanted?" Salem questions his brother.
