All the way to his office he'd thought about those luscious lips and the unknowingly seductive way she bit them.
Even though he was a man that was locked away from the world he was still a man. With work on his desk to be done and calls to make Alejandro just couldn't stay focus.
"Fuck!", he slammed his hands on the desk with frustration.
....................
Grace was amongst the maids getting her chores done, even with her injured ankle, she'd gotten up at the dawn of day, fixed breakfast for him, carried it to his private dining area and cleaned what was needed.
After he was gone according to schedule, Grace was once again in his room.
Since she was the only one that was allowed, it was her duty to have it cleaned up.
She started with the hundreds of mirror pieces on the floor. She was careful not let any splinters get through her flats, not wanting a double injury.
Then she saw traces of red foot sprints, she stooped down to have a closer look, it was blood. It wasn't hard to figure out that was was the cause of the many cuts under his feet.
But why would he walk on these, knowing he'd get hurt, she thought.
She carefully picked up all the big pieces the swept up all the splinters in the scoop;
she made a mental note to ask Henry for a replacement mirror. She orderly organize the rest of the grand room.
The bed was the last she saw to, as she was making it, it never failed her to inhale the musk scent he wore, the flavour tantalized her.
When she was finished she sat on the lounge chair she was once on last night.
Her mind replayed all that had happened.
Was his foot burnt?, it looks as such, even badly, was this the cause of his always having this part of the massive mansion darkened?, was it the reason for his distasteful behavior?, what was the meaning of Henry's words about he couldn't be any further,.Grace figured her questions could only be answered if she does one thing.
Find Henry. She took a second look over the room before she exited.
Grace went to her room to freshened up before she set out to look for Henry. As she was on her patio putting her hair up in a pony tail, she spotted the man she was looking for, he was in the gardens talking with one of the gardeners. She carefully slipped on her comfortable flip flops then made her way out.
Like all the days over on The Montego land it was gloomy, she'd remembered about what her mother said to her before she came here, of the place filling with great darkness, now she knew her mother's words were true, she wanted to know about everything that was going on even about Mr Montego and the injured foot she saw.
Taking herself through one of the many back door she called out to him.
"Henry!", the man looked over at her, he ended his conversation with the gardener as he watched her coming towards him.
"A word", she requested.
"Of course", he directed her to one of the available stone seat along the mansion's pathway.
Henry looked her over and smiled, thinking about when she just got here, he thought her accent was that of London but after a week with her he could hear the difference, the british difference.
It was easy to get confused with the two."What can I do for you M- Grace", she was thrilled that he finally was coming around to calling her by her birth name.
"How long have you been working for Mr. Montego?", she started.
"The master?",
"I believe they're the same person, yes", she answered.
"Longer than Mrs Dorothy Herbert White, I believe it has bin sixty years", the man proudly answered.
"Who's Dorothy?", she asked with much interest.
"Grace, I believe you are now filling her position", she didn't like that the man at most times didn't give her a straight answer.
"What happened to her?"
"She had done her time", grace could tell that the woman they were speaking of was a good friend to him.
"Im sorry",.
"Well it's alright, Dorothy should be soaring with the angels now", Henry looked up to the sky with glistened eyes.
Grace held both of his.
"Henry, what happened to Mr Montego, while doing his treatments last night, I saw his foot, it looked to be burnt", this had the man in wide eyes.
"You've seen him?", he asked in surprised.
"No, no just his foot, what do you mean if I've seen him, have you never?",.
"No, neither anyone", the man shook his head.
"Im afraid I don't follow", in a state of shock; Grace just couldn't believe what she was hearing.
Henry looked around to make sure noone was in sight or eavesdropping.
"When I started out I was working for the master's senior", he whispered.
"His father?", she asked to confirm, Henry nodded.
"A fine happy family they were, until there was a fatal fire, noone knew up to now of the caused, everyone was retrieved from the house all but young Alejandro, the fire had gotten out of control, there was no way in for the fire fighters, they tried so reluctantly but neither could get through the smoke and flames was too much, took about fifty water trucks to put out the flame, by the time they got in they found the master trapped in what was left of the basement of the mansion before, he was horrifically burnt alive, when they brought him out there wasn't anything left on him, just smoke and badly burnt flesh, one couldn't even see his eyes, it was a miracle he even survived, the master's mother lost it, her beloved son wouldn't have a chance at a normal life, so they locked him away, until the master reached to age, the senior had gotten him this place, i was the senior's most trusted employee so he left me in charge up till now of everything on the grounds, just not the master, to this day noone has seen him since", by the end of the saddened story Grace was in tears.
She still couldn't get to grips of what she'd just learnt, even about his family locking him away like a wild animal.
No wonder the man was so ruthless.
"I've got some work to do, keep your lips sealed about this", he said to her.
"Henry!", she called again.
"A replacement mirror is needed in Mr Montego's room", the man looked puzzled, then he disappeared through the door.
