-Beca arrives at the Bella house-

A/N: Hey guys, just a lil heads up there is some swearing in this chapter.

Beca had been stood outside the Bella house for about a minute and she still hadn't made her presence known. Why was she so nervous? This was Chloe after all. She'd seen her like a hundred times before. Just her friend Chloe, at this thought a smirk played on Beca's rosy lips. Her finger was inches away from the doorbell and just as she was about to press it the door opened and Aubrey walked straight into Beca, sending her crashing to the floor.

Aubrey gasped and Beca groaned. "What the fuck, Aubrey?" Beca dusted her hands and was standing up when she fell straight back onto the floor. She grabbed her ankle. "Christ! My ankle."

"Beca, oh my god! I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there. I didn't expect you to be right outside the door when I walked out. Here let me help you." Aubrey offered her hand to help Beca off the floor but she waved it away.

"I'm fine, I don't need your help."

"Fine, Beca, I was only trying to be nice. Chloe's inside." With that said Aubrey retracted her hand and stormed off, onto campus.

Beca sat on the ground for a couple seconds longer and rubbed her ankle. "Shit!" Her ankle was throbbing. She slowly stood up and grabbed onto the wall, to help steady herself in case she fell again.

The door swung open again and the sudden movement made Beca loose her balance and she fell, with a thud, back onto the floor. "For god sake, people have got to stop doing that!" She cried, again nursing her pained ankle.

"Oh my god, Beca! What happened?" The bubbly red head made it down to tiny brunette's level and looked at her ankle, the distress prominent in her voice.

"Nothing, I'm fine." The fact that Chloe was worried made Beca feel all warm inside, no one ever cared about her, but her face remained cold and emotionless.

"Beca! Come on, give me your hand. Let me help you." Chloe tried to place her arm around Beca but was quickly stopped in her track.

"Chloe, I'm fine. I don't need help. See..." Beca tried to use the wall as support again but the slightest movement would send shooting pains straight through her ankle. "Shit" She mumbled to herself, but Chloe heard. Chloe wasted no time in asking Beca if she needed help again, because she knew she'd refuse, and she knew that she did need help. Chloe slowly wrapped her arm around Beca's shoulder, it's a good job she's small Chloe thought to herself.

As much as Beca wanted to scream at Chloe to let go off her, because she didn't depend on anyone for anything, she didn't. Not this time. To be honest the pressure of Chloe's arm around her shoulder felt homely and warm. Also, she couldn't walk on her ankle by herself at the moment, so that added support was great.

The pair eventually made it to the living room and Chloe eased Beca onto the sofa. "So, are you going to tell me what happened, or?" She had put a pillow under Beca's ankle and was now resting a bag of frozen peas on the slightly swollen and red ankle.

Chloe kept her hand on the peas and looked up at Beca. The brunette's eyes squinted slightly at the sudden rush of coldness, "Oh, stop moaning." She joked. "You're supposed to be a cold and heartless, remember? At least that's what Aubrey thinks." The way Chloe had said this made her think what Chloe thought about her, did she think she was cold and heartless? "The peas will help your ankle and reduce the swelling, so suck it up Mitchell." Chloe gave a quick wink which was accompanied by an angelic reassuring smile.

Beca couldn't act like the pain was non-existent because it was very much real and true. She could feel Chloe's eye's burning into her face, so she tore her gaze off the peas and looked into Chloe's eyes, the pain and the cold were forgotten soon after. She was lost. Pool deep in Chloe's ocean blue globes.

"Beca?" Crap! Beca thought, how long had I been staring at her? See Mitchell, this is why you shouldn't have come. You're just going to make a fool of yourself.

She shook her head slightly, "Urm, it was nothing, really." Chloe sighed and just stared at Beca. God, don't stare at me, Chloe quit it! "Seriously, I'll be okay soon."

"You do know you're avoiding the question, right? Now what happened. Did you know that if you tell me I'll stop asking?" Chloe giggled, sending a blush up Beca's neck.

A sigh left her lips. "Well, I was waiting on the steps and was just about to ring the doorbell when Aubrey came through the door and ran into me. I didn't expect it, so I landed on the floor and I'm guessing when I did I twisted my ankle or something. It's nothing big. Don't worry."

"I'll always worry about you Beca. I care about you." Their eyes locked again and this time it was Chloe's turn to get lost in Beca's blue eyes. Her eyes swam with a million emotions. On first glance Beca seemed completely fine, her mask. Then if you looked closer you'd see the pain that was caused through her ankle. Finally, there was a small sense of vulnerability and heartbreak. It broke Chloe's heart to think Beca was damaged. She wanted to help her. To heal her.

"Wow." The comment was barely audible and Chloe was glad Beca didn't hear it. Damn it Beale, get your act together. Go and grab the coffee, gosh, you're acting like a school girl. "Will you be okay? I'm just going to go grab the coffee."

Beca nodded her head. Chloe gave her famous, cute, smile and disappeared into the kitchen. Leaving Beca to think. About her. Her sweetness. The pressure of her arm on her shoulder and ankle. Her smile. Her eyes. The fire that wasn't only in her hair but in her eyes. Just her.

Oh, crap! Beca thought to herself.
