The rest of the day went by great. I had lunch with my friends Amanda and Miranda who were known as the twins. They werent really twins, but everyone was convinced they were somehow family to each other. But still they looked nothing alike for Amanda was a red head and Miranda was a dirty blonde.
Then I had history with Mrs. Patterson, the sweetest teacher ever in my opinion. Finally it was time for the class I had been dreading all day long. And that class would be art class in room 20 with Mrs. May. She never did like that I painted in black and white only.
I walked off to class, and was annoyed right away for Axe was sitting beside my usual seat.
"Don't tell me you are in this class too?"
Axe scuffed and boasted, "Yes, I am in this class after all I AM the creative type. I love to paint as well with colors. After all colors are beautiful don't you think, Lily."
He'd said my name with a sneer. I wanted to smack the kid on the head as he was getting on my nerves big time.
"I don't see colors, dummy."
"I know thats why I am determined to bring colors to you, somehow, someway."
"Well, STOP!!!" I exclaimed as I threw one of my art pencils at him.
"Ow!!!" Axe yelled before the teacher shushed him and gave him the evil eye.
The bell rang as many more students filed into the classroom.
"Briiinnnngggg, brrrriiiinnnnngggg."
I then got the rest of my art equipment out of my bookbag.
I just had several charcoal pencils, erasers, and canvas papers. I drew Axe that day as the teacher gave us an assignment to draw something significant that day. I drew Axe's dark, black hair, and drew his eyes that almost were the shade of Charcoal. I drew his pained expression on his face, and drew his Walking Dead t-shirt.
The teacher Mrs. May came by after awaile and was shaking her head at the lack of color on the page.
"I thought I told you that color is a requirement for this assigment."
"I know, but how am I supposed to do art in color if I cannot see color?"
"Use your imagination." Mrs. May simply said.
"Yeah, right. Its like colors would mess the picture up. I wanna draw as I see the world in black and white."
"Ok, fine. But just remember using colors is 1/4th of your grade. "
Axe looked at me and smirked as Mrs. May told me that.
"I can help you see colors without actually seeing them through my poetry." Axe smiled as he said this.
I glanced at his picture. He had painted a rainbow, but all my eyes saw were different shades of gray. I frowned at this realization for deep down I really did want to see colors like everyone else. But I just pretended to not wanna see colors, and I told myself I would rather just draw and paint as I saw things in black and in white.
"Thats really cool, Axe. "
"Um, thanks." Axe said, shyly.
"You are welcome. Its cool, but I still don't want you to show me colors as I can't see them."
"I don't care. I am still going to show you colors through my poetry whether you like it or not." Axe replied.
"Yeah, suuurrreee you will. As you have failed to notice I can't see colors, period!"
I rolled my eyes at Axe as I said this. He just looked at me with his stupid smirk before returning his attention back to his rainbow painting.I stared long and hard at his painting trying my hardest to make myself see the painting as he and everyone else saw it. But it was to no avail for all I saw was black and gray and white- same as I always saw. Class passed quickly, and so did the rest of the day.
Later that night, I got an invite to a party. My few friends wanted me to go, so I reluctantly obliged. I snuck out of the house, because I was sure if I asked my parents would have said no. I had my blonde, gray eyed friend Lyla pick me up about a block from my house.
"Hey, chicka. Ready for the party to start." Lyla said from inside the car as she grinned from ear to ear before reaching up to adjust the mirrors. I stared at her and her dark gray car before shrugging my shoulders and hopping in.
"Sure. I guess. I'm as ready as I will ever be." I mouthed as nerves began to overtake me."
A/N: I will finish this chapter soon as soon as I get the time.
