"Hey, chicka. Ready for the party to start." Lyla said from inside the car as she grinned from ear to ear before reaching up to adjust the mirrors. I stared at her and her dark gray car before shrugging my shoulders and hopping in."Sure. I guess. I'm as ready as I will ever be." I mouthed as nerves began to overtake me.
Tonight was the party I'd been dreading. I didn't particularly like parties persay as I would much rather sit at home and paint or read a book or two.
"We're here." Lyla exclaimed, smiling as she parked her car in one of the few available places. Lyla parked the car, and got out and opened the door for me. I got out, and followed Lyla inside the noisy house. And it truely was noisy as well. The noise outside the house was deafening enough; I already dreaded going inside the house with all the booming racket. Gray lights of various shades illuminated through the house's many windows as well.
"Ready to go inside?" Lyla inquired of me as she reached for the doorbell.
"I guess. I'm as ready as I'll ever be I suppose." I answered before letting out a sigh.
"Well okay then."
Lyla rang the doorbell, and of all people who could have answered the door Axe opened the door.
"Oh, hi." Axe said while ushering us inside.
And was as I thought it'd be even nosier inside than it was outside the house. And like I said earlier it was already pretty noisy outside, anyways. Once fully inside one practically had to scream to be heard at all.
"HELLO, AXE. HOW ARE YOU? LILY'S TOLD ME ALL ABOUT YOU!!!" Lyla screamed at the top of her lungs to be heard above the noise and the crowd. Still, it was barely audible thus sounding a little above a whisper.
"I'M FINE!!! Mind if I take Lily over now? I wanna dance or rather just hang with her if you don't mind. You don't mind, right?" Axe answered Lyla before asking her a question himself.
My friend Lyla nodded a simple yes, and handed me over to Mr. Rude, aka: Axe, aka: Prince Charming... yipee.
"You're not going to make me dance, are you? I must say I'm a terrible dancer with the whole two left feet kind of thing. In fact, I'm clumsier than Bella from the Twilight Francise, and yes thats possible at least with me. And ugh can you please get me some sunglasses the lights are bugging my eyes?" I whined and complained to Axe who shook his head no.
"What do you mean no, jerkface? The lights really are killing my eyes!" I growled at him as I said this. He just chuckled a little.
"I was saying and meaning no to the dancing, and not to the whole sunglasses thing eesh and you call me rude. Anyways I already wrote you a poem demonstrating the color Red, so tonight I wrote you a poem demonstrating the color Blue. I kinda figured you'd show up. So, well, here it is." Axe said before handing me a crumbled up piece of paper with scribbled handwriting on the paper. It read-
Blue,
The color of the Ocean
Blue,
The Color of the vast skies
Blue,
The color I feel when I think of losing Lilys'
Blue,
The color of my tears that I cry when I think of the one who cannot see colors.I roll my eyes at the last two lines of the poem. It's obvious once again Axe is talking bout me in this newest poem of his. He almost sounds obsessed with me considering he compared me to a flower... a Lily of all flowers. And, crying at my not seeing colors, well, no one not even those who've tried making me see colors have cried at my inability to see them.
"What??? It's terrible isn't it??? I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have shown it to you." Axe's face turns beat red as he tries to rip the piece of paper out of my hands.
"HEY!!!" I hollared out, clutching the piece of paper even tighter in my hands. I didn't really know just why I cared so much about the piece of crumbled up paper in my hands, but I did. I cared. Alot. I didn't even know why Axe was growing on me for I really didn't appreciate people forcing colors on me, yet the way Axe did it was different. Axe's way was almost sentimental like.
"So you must like it then, right?"
"Right." I answered Axe's question.
I slapped Axe's back the way I'd seen guys do at times. He shot me a puzzled expression.
"Sorry, it's just I've seen guys do that, and while I'm not a guy I still think it is cool." I sheepishly told him.
"Yeah, I like you better if you just stick to being yourself. " Axe chuckled as he said this. Then he motioned me to the dance floor. I gulped this was so not gonna be good.
"I changed my mind. Let's dance."
