The young Julian Allen sat at the table alone, fiddling with the red crayon in her hands.

When she thought of anger, red was the color to come to mind, however, when she thought of love, red was also there. Red was her mother's favorite color, and seeing it made her sad to think of her deceased mother. Her mother and father had died not long after she was born, a fatal car crash from a drunk driver. She was moved to her grandparents house immediately after, her mother's parents taking her in like she was their own.

A young boy approached her table, wanting to share her crayons. She was drawing a picture of the dog that she wanted, hoping that showing her guardians a picture would let them know exactly what she wanted, plus she felt like they weren't picking up the subtle hints she was laying down.

"Can I borrow that red crayon when you're done with it?" he asked, pointing to the crayon in her hand.

"Yeah," she handed it to him, knowing she wouldn't be using it again for the flowers around the dog. "You wanna color with me?" she asked him, looking to the other chairs around her. He nodded eagerly, pulling out the small chair and sitting down. He shot up immediately making the girl's eyes widen.

"I forgot my picture!" he whisper-yelled and then ran to his old seat to grab it.

There wasn't much else that happened after that, the two just bonded over some meaningless crayon.
