First Cheerleading Practice, Sophomore Year
Julian sat on the ground, stretching her legs out after a short jog to warm up for cheerleading practice. It was the first practice of the sophomore year and while she wasn't new to the squad, she felt extremely nervous. Their captain this year was Caitlyn Finchley, who Julian remembered as their bossiest and yet most helpful member last year. Caitlyn had stated that she wanted the best out of the girls this year and that they should expect some serious training, it put a damper on the End of the Year Banquet the cheerleaders had.
Kimberly Hart sat down next to her, starting to stretch out as well. Julian looked up from her leg to the girl, seeing her hesitant smile. She smiled back at her, eyes flickering to Amanda and Harper who sat a couple feet away, looking at them and giggling. Julian rolled her eyes after looking away from the duo, knowing that they weren't saying very nice things about either of them, Kim always went back to them. Julian looked back to her leg, wondering how the three girls had managed to stay such good friends when they always talked about each other behind their back, but it wasn't really her business. As long as they didn't start spreading rumors and really try to ruin other people's lives she would stay away from the group.
That didn't mean she would stay away from them as individuals. "Hi, Jules," Kim said as she bent to stretch her legs. "How have you been?"
"Pretty good, outside of dealing with Jason's constant conditioning for football, I've had a pretty relaxed summer." Kimberly laughed and Julian comment, nodding her head at the statement. "At least I can run a mile under seven minutes, I doubt I'll keep that up over the year, though." Kimberly laughed again, nodding at her words.
"On a scale of one to ten, how excited are you for this season?" she whispered to Julian, who smiled back at her, though her eyes trailed away from Kim to the girl standing behind her.
"Hi, Caitlyn!" Julian said with an over-enthusiastic smile. Kimberly's face fell a little bit, but when Julian sent her a wink and offered her a hand to help her stand up, she took it with a grateful smile. "Happy to see that you're our captain this year."
An intro to Kim and Julian. I wasn't sure if Kim was a cheerleader, but for the sake of my story, she is. I know I said yesterday I was working on a full-length chapter for today, which I totally am, I just wanted to post more small snippets to detail Julian with the other rangers. Billy will be next!
And if you liked it don't be afraid to comment and favorite it, it means the world to me! Thank you and hopefully see you tomorrow with another update.
