Murphy POV

The second I woke up, I started to panic. It was dark, and I was in an unknown bed, in an unknown house. I hopped up, and I was so disoriented I ran head-first into a wall. I fell and hit the ground hard, which made quite a lot of noise. I heard running in the hall, and there was knocking on the door. "Hey! Are you OK?"  Wait, I know that voice. Suddenly, I remember everything about the previous day. I hear the doorknob turn, and I see Finn out in the hall, wide-eyed in boxer shorts and a white tee. " Murph? What happened?" He sounded genuinely concerned. "I'm sorry for waking you,  I had a bit of a panic attack" I started to crawl back into bed. Finn's expression changed into a softer form of concern, mixed in with slight pity, and he walked over and sat on the edge of my bed. "Listen, I can't say anything about what you've been through, because I know that I've never had to deal with anything  big like that. However, if you ever need to talk through what happened, I want you to be able to talk to me. We're brothers now, and I've never had a brother before." Finn gave me a smile that could have won a beauty contest. I don't know why, but I already feel like I can trust him. " Thanks" That's all I said, but Finn gave me a look like he knew. He knew that I couldn't say what I felt, and he was OK with that. "OK, good talk." He stood up and walked to the door, and he turned around once he reached the door frame. "My room is next door, remember, and Mom and Dad are down the stairs, first door on the left. You can wake me up anytime you need it." He turned to leave, but Murphy didn't want to leave anything unfinished. "Goodnight Finn" He stopped, and looked over his shoulder, "Goodnight Murph."

*** The Next Morning***

I woke up to the smell of food. Not the disgusting "healthy alternative" crap that they serve at the Ark. Actual home-cooked, authentic breakfast food. I stepped out of bed and opened my suitcase. I guess I should unpack, but I'm not to worried. I change into a pair of jeans and a blue tank before I walk down into the kitchen. The Collins were all in morning action mode. Clay, Mr. Collins, was cooking pancakes and sausage at the stove;  Anna, Mrs. Collins, who was setting the table for four, with one place setting of different plates and silverware;  and Finn, who was pouring three glasses of orange juice, and he was the first person to see me. " Oh, hey Murph, orange juice?" "Um, yea thanks....." I felt a little uncomfortable with all of their eyes on me, I'm really not used to all of this attention. " How did you sleep hun?" Anna asked. I looked at Finn who looked back at me and gave me a slight nod. "I slept alright" "That's great son. Now I should let you know a few things. First, I am a public defender for the state, so I work a lot. Anna works as a chef at the Asian Fusion restaurant over in the Pittsburgh. Second, curfew for the house is 10:30 on school nights and 11:00 on weekends and during the summer. Try to keep yourself out of trouble, this is a small town so, just don't do anything crazy and you should be OK." Once Clay stopped speaking, I took a second to absorb, nothing seemed that unreasonable, I mean it all makes sense. " That will definitely be no problem." Clay and Anna shared a smile. " That's good to hear. Now, we have gathered a small group of people together for just a little party to welcome you to the neighborhood." "I also invited a few of the kids from school," Finn said, as he got out a fourth glass and started pouring. " That sounds great, but to be honest I'm still a little apprehensive about meeting everyone." They all stop and look at me. "Murphy, is there something wrong," Anna sounded generally concerned. "It's just, every time that I get, you know, comfortable in a place I usually have to leave." The Collins family all shared a look, and they all started towards me. I was scared at first but then the next thing I knew, Anna and Finn both had their arms wrapped around me, and Clay  had a reassuring hand on my shoulder. I didn't know what to feel, but I, embarrassingly, started to cry. I felt the tears falling down my cheeks, and I also felt the Collins draw back, unsure of what to say. " I'm sorry, its not you guys, I just, I feel so happy...." I'm crying, but they still come back in to hug me. When we finally separate, nobody says anything, we all just get our plates, and we sit down to eat our breakfast. After we finish, they tell me that the party is at five, so I can pretty much do whatever I want to do until then. I head up to the guest room, no, my room. I felt a rush of joy as I though about how I finally have a family. It isn't until I'm in the room, putting my sparse belongings into the dresser, that it hits me that I used to have a family, but I lost them, and it was all my fault. I felt the tears welling up again, except this time it wasn't from joy. He was crying now, and it wasn't the soft silent crying, it was the loud messy crying, the one that is more hysterically sobbing than actually crying. At this point I was just lying there, sobbing without stopping. Then I heard it, the creaking of the floor outside my room. I looked out of the doorway, and Finn was standing right there. "GET OUT!!" I yell, embarrassed to be seen like this. "I'm sorry, I just wanted to tell you that some of my friends were here, if you wanted to meet them." He paused, and gave me a look. "Do you want to talk?" I just start to cry more, but I know I need to answer him. "I just... I really... I miss them so much...." I break, and the tears keep coming. Finn doesn't say anything, he walks over, sits down, and just holds me. We just sit there, until we hear the cough at the door. We both look over to see Anna standing there, a knowing look on her face. "Everything OK boys?" she is speaking to both of us, but I see the accusatory look she threw at Finn. "He didn't do anything," I assure her. "I was a wreck before he got here. But, I'm OK now, I just needed to let out some emotion." She looked at me, nodded and started to walk down the hallway. "By the way, don't forget that Bellamy, Octavia and Clarke are downstairs. And you know the twins can get a little, twitchy when left alone with your father and I." "I know, we're on our way" Finn looked at me with reassuring eyes. I nodded, and we both stood up. As I walked downstairs, my mind drifted to the kid in the photograph, the one with the smile. Right before I was  about to walk into the living room, I stopped and just took a breath. I took one deep breath and I took a step forward into the room. The first person I see, I recognize her from the photos, is a girl, about my age, with blonde hair and purple streaks. She looks kind enough. The other person in the room, also a girl, also looks about my age. She has dark hair, and a stern looking face. She also looks familiar, but I can't place it. "Well, this is Clarke," Finn motioned to the blonde, "and this is Octavia," he motions to the brunette. "Guys this is John Murphy, he is going to be living with us." "It's a pleasure." I give both of them a smile, and they both give me a weird look, probably because my eyes are all red. "Wait, where's Bell?" Finn asked. "I'm right here." I jumped at the voice and spun around. It was him. The boy from the photo. The one with the dark curly hair, the deep eyes, and the smirky smile. "Hey," he says, giving me a half-grin, "The names Bellamy, but my friends call me Bell, if they're lucky." Finn laughs at this. "Please, you don't say no to anyone about it anyway." "Shut up Finn." The two of them laugh. "Hey, I'm John, but I prefer being called Murphy." "It's a pleasure." Bellamy said with a smirk, obviously having heard my greeting earlier. We share a look, at least until it gets awkward and then look away. Finn looks at me and smirks. "Really lover boy? At least get to know him first." I lightly punch him in the arm, but blush, even though this was whispered directly to me. This is going to be interesting.

******* Author's Note****

So... I just wanted to put out there that the town in the story, Connellsville PA, is actually my hometown. Everything I write about the town is fact, except that there is no cul-de-sac in this town. Also, yes, I did make the Blake siblings twins.

The Ages:

Murphy- 15/16; Bellamy-16; Octavia- 16; Finn- 16; Clarke- 16; I will put updated lists of ages and grades as more characters are added.

Also, the next chapter will be Murphy POV, but then I will be switching back and forth. I may also add in chapters from others, just to add different perspectives.
