Good morning to everyone. Welcome back to our second week of outreach. How did last week's outreach program play a good role in your life?
Do share (not forcing though) your testimonies with us to encourage everyone that's joining this program. Apart from that, let's dive into God's word today.
1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good. Abstain from every form of evil.Today's verse sums up in a 'nutshell' what we must do in order to be ready to meet Jesus face to face when He returns for the final judgment.
Test all things:
Meaning God wants us to test everything that surrounds us. Not to fully trust on what others say. We should be able to differentiate the truth from lie with God's help.Hold firmly that which is good;
Meaning to say that after you can differ what is true and good according to God's Word, you should always hold on to what is good despite of countless temptations to let it go.Abstain from every form of evil:
Means that we should stay away from anything contrary to what God calls good. For example, we should never hurt others even to the slightest as they are created by God and he loves them despite of how they look or who they are.None of us knows when Jesus is coming again, but if we are always ready, it won't matter. When we live in readiness, the day of His return is a day to anticipate rather than dread.
Prayer:
Create in us a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within us. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation, and make us willing to obey You.
In Jesus name, We pray, Amen.Task of the week:
With everything written down today, I would like you guys to share some incidents in life where you bravely chose good than bad. Share what the results were and encourage those around you. This week, I challenge you to choose good! Be a light for God.
